❤️ "A shaman is a highly respected title given to a traditional medicine man or woman who masters altered states of consciousness. A shaman is a bridge between the spirit world and physical plane. He or she uses its spirit relationships to create changes that will manifest in the physical world to meet the healing needs of his/her community.
Stanley Krippner, American psychologist and parapsychologist, described shamans and shamanism as the oldest profession, the first physicians, diagnosticians, storytellers, psychotherapists, religious functionaries, magicians, performing artists, and storytellers.
A shaman or shamanic practitioner is one who takes care of healing of people, but may not be up to them to make that decision.
A shaman or the practitioner often has a calling and goes through a lot of isolation and initiation before being activated. He or she may also spend time training with other shamans where the learning regimen is intense and rigorous.
Not all who practices shamanism are shamans and a shamanic practitioner may be a shaman without calling themselves a shaman.
Living in harmony with nature, healing of self and of community, having a spiritual practice, pilgrimage are all foundation aspects of shamanism." ❤️
Some abilities a Shaman has:
An increased facility for mastering altered states of consciousness and traveling in non-ordinary realms at will
The ability to mediate between the needs of the spirit and physical world
The ability to serve the needs of the community that cannot be met by practitioner of other disciplines such as psychiatrists, physicians, specialists, leaders, priests…
The ability to diagnose energetic root causes and to heal them so they don’t manifest on the physical plane
