Salvus Clinic

Salvus Clinic Our inter-professional and community based approach to primary health care, means that we look at the whole person opposed to dealing with just one symptom.

At Salvus, our mission is to provide primary health care, housing support, and service navigation to those within our community who are surviving and experiencing barriers related to homelessness, poverty, mental health, and substance use. Salvus Clinic is a different kind of clinic, our philosophy much like our name derives from the Latin word meaning “safe” to which we provide a multi team appro

ach to care for those who feel hopeless, rejected and out of options. So along with our primary health care work we offer housing support, a blood clinic, community outreach, supportive addiction management, patient navigation and several specialized clinics in conjunction with our community partners including: Diabetic Clinic; Pain Clinic, and Spirometry clinic. Salvus Clinic’s proactive inclusive care model means that our neighbors dealing with poverty, mental health and addictions needs are being met and larger crises adverted. This has a positive impact on our community, especially when it comes to lessening the financial burdens off local health authorities, social development, and tax payers.

National Nursing Week | May 11–17 💙

This year’s theme, “The Power of Nurses to Transform Health,” recognizes the vital role nurses play in shaping care, driving innovation, and advocating for patients.

At Salvus Clinic, we’re proud to recognize the advocacy of our nurses and clinical team, who work hard every day to support patients, remove barriers, and deliver compassionate, person-centred care!

Today, we honour and remember the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people.

We recognize the ongoing impacts of colonialism, systemic inequities, and violence that continue to affect Indigenous communities.

This is a day to listen, learn, reflect, and commit to meaningful action.

Together, we can strive toward justice, healing, and a future where every life is valued and protected.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mental Health Week is an annual event in Canada raising awareness about the importance of mental health.

This year’s theme is “Come together, Canada” — a reminder that social connection builds resilience, supports well-being, and includes moments of recreation and fun.

At Salvus Clinic, our peer support programs focus on bringing people together through connection and shared experience — with weekly activities including outdoor outings, aqua fit, peer-to-peer groups, one-on-one supports, and Fun Fridays built around healing, laughter, and community.

We hope you take time to reach out, connect, and care for your well-being!

March Into Nature
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for March Into Nature! We enjoyed a beautiful hike along the Dobson Trail, took in the fresh air, and shared some great moments together around the campfire roasting marshmallows and hotdogs.
It was a day filled with connection, laughter, and amazing company. Grateful for each of you who made it so special!

❄️ Snowshoeing Season Highlights ❄️
This winter has been nothing short of amazing! Our snowshoeing adventures have been filled with laughter, fresh air, and so many meaningful moments together.
A huge thank you to Camp Centennial for partnering with us and making these experiences possible. Because of this connection, we’ve been able to come together, get active, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors in such a special way.
There’s something powerful about being out in nature the quiet of the snow, the crisp air, and the chance to clear our minds. These outings have brought not only physical activity, but also mental clarity, connection, and a sense of peace.
Most of all, it’s been about the people building relationships, supporting one another, and sharing in something positive together.
Grateful for this season, these moments, and this community 💙
