We’ve normalized waiting until things fall apart before taking care of ourselves.

🙏🏻 Therapy after the anxiety spikes.
😴 Rest after the burnout.
🏋️‍♀️ Movement after the diagnosis.
🛑 Boundaries after the resentment.

But we get one life. One shot at this. Why are so many people only learning to care for themselves once they’re already running on empty?

Sometimes it starts with one small step before the crisis. Maybe it starts with...

🚶‍♀️ One walk.
💦 One glass of water.
☝🏻 One less drink.
🗣️ One honest conversation.
📅 One appointment booked.

Maybe it’s putting pride to the side. Maybe it’s letting go of generational stigma. Maybe it’s finally choosing to take care of yourself before life forces you to!

Shannon ❤️

We check in on others. We show up. We push through. But when was the last time you checked in on yourself?

Mental Health Week isn’t about doing more rather it’s about noticing what you need.

You deserve support. You deserve space. You deserve to feel okay again.

Some days in this work are heavy…
and other days, I am reminded why it matters.

“I got dressed and showered today.”
“I almost cancelled but I came.”
“I didn’t spiral the way I used to.”
“I set a boundary and held it.”
“I reached out instead of withdrawing.”
“I stayed.”
“I have been sober for 4 months.”

Not loud. Not performative. But deeply significant.

This is how change begins. This is how strength is built. This is what courage looks like in its most honest form. And on days like these, we know it's going to be alright ❤️

And I have the privilege of witnessing it,
every single day 🙏🏻

Here’s the link to book a counselling session. Many people have asked for me to share it again. Here it is :)

With the nice weather here, I’m also offering walk-and-talk sessions, which is an amazing opportunity to connect, reflect, and move forward while enjoying the fresh air and a change of scenery.

If you don’t see a time that works for you, please reach out and I’d be happy to find a space that supports you. Your time and well-being truly matter.

Friday Facts 🧠 with Shannon 👌🏼

This is one of the biggest things I work on with my clients and I observe in social settings: SELF-AWARENESS.

Self-awareness is one of the most powerful and uncomfortable skills we can build.

It’s not just knowing how you feel but catching yourself in the moment and asking:

👉🏼Is this true, or is this my fear talking?

We all create stories, we project, we avoid and we blame. Not because we’re broken but because we’re human and because we have insecurities.

Growth starts when we notice it. When we choose honesty over defensiveness. When we take ownership and we begin to identify our patterns. Some would say, we start calling ourselves out on our own crap.

Self-awareness isn’t perfection rather it’s accountability. And it’s where real change begins.

Happy Friday 🥰

A few years ago, I had the privilege of being the keynote speaker at the Hoop Classic Girls Tournament. I shared my story, but I also leaned on the voices of people I deeply respect, leaders who were already making an impact at the national level in hockey and basketball to send a video to us for the event.

Fast forward to today…

1) Kori Cheverie is now the head coach of the Montreal Victoire, making history and was named Coach of the Year in 2025.

2) Carly Clarke was just named assistant coach for the WNBA’s Toronto Tempo, and making history.

This is what sport does. You can start in sport and it teaches you the work ethic to chase your dreams far beyond it.

It builds. It tests. It breaks you down and gives you the chance to rise.

The power of sport.
The power of hard work.
The power of having a dream.

Failure will come. But if you stay with it, push through it, and keep showing up…It’s always worth it.

Hard work. Growth. Confidence.

Proud of Chloe and all the girls for the athlete and people they are becoming.

Train hard. Train smart. EARN it.

This didn’t happen overnight.
This has been in the making for a long time.

Built through experience…
through pressure…
through seeing what people carry
that no one else sees.

Because no one is just one thing.

Not just an athlete.
Not just anxiety.
Not just a role they play for everyone else.

A whole person.

Mind.
Body.
Identity.
Life.

And there was never one place
that held all of it.

So I built it. A space where you don’t have to separate who you are to work on yourself.

Where you can train…
and heal…
and grow…
and just be...
all at the same time.

No labels. No pretending. Just real work. Real support. Real growth.
