Do you want me to tell you how smart are our furry friends ? Ok let me see… so I vaccinate my little furry friends and as a part of my physical exam, I measure their temperature too... Well, the story is not measuring by putting the thermometer under their tongue like doctors do for humans adult or children. I mean I can’t tell a dog “ hey sweetheart ! could you hold this thermometer under your tongue for a minute or do you want me to put under your armpit? 😂 “ no way… let me elaborate for you …so if you don’t know …in animal world the approach is not …well..considered that much democratic!….and we need to find another body opening to stick the thermometer in and if I want to be politically correct in my writing we need to use the opening ….without chewing ability like mouth ….I mean a hole opposite to the mouth !!!…now some of my patients specifically the big dogs don’t mind that much and don’t react more than a side-eye like “ what kind of sick person are you!?” Or pitiful look like “ well you miserable white-coat person …everyone has his own dark side and yours is this “….kind of this ….. However, in most patients story is different…they will make sure that they express their objections properly! In small dogs and cats the objections will be mostly like “ giving a memorable lesson to the intruder ie, vet!!”
Now more interesting is my recent findings that they have amazing memories too …. Most of my puppies and kittens when they come for booster….once they see me…it is look like they are conditional and in a second once I am done with patting them and listening heart …out of nowhere they get the signals… ok… we are getting close to the strange step… and immediately …”Bump down “ and no matter how much you try to persuade them to stand up to get their treats… no way …. They will do anything else that exposing their bump to you….years going to school and studying vet medicine…end of the day your little furry patients somehow associate you with their bump 😂

The other day, I went for check up of a little lovely kitty and fell in love with her right at the first sight...So beautiful cat ! The I told her "do you know how much I love you?.... 10 times !!). I asked her do you love me ? and if so how much ?. She mumbled something I could not understand. I asked her again .....she decided to write it down for me...well she did not have paper so she wrote on my arm...Wow eleven times ! She loved me at least 1 time more.....I am so lucky! Don't you think so?. Now everyday I look at my arm remember.... boy my patient loved me more than what I cared for her...Lucky me LOL....
