Between lectures and learning moments ✨

Our very own MJ taking a quick pause before the next session at the Canadian Society of Pelvic Medicine meeting in Ottawa, with Alana bringing the energy in the background. 👋

Every conference, conversation, and connection reminds us how important it is to keep growing together in pelvic health care. Grateful to be surrounded by passionate professionals who continue to learn, share, and uplift one another.

A very important reminder:

Becoming a pelvic floor physiotherapist rarely follows a straight path.

Some days you’ll feel confident in your assessments.
Some days you’ll leave class with even more questions than answers.
Some skills will click right away, while others take practice, mentorship, and time.

And that is completely normal.

Pelvic health is a field built on continual learning, clinical reasoning, communication, and experience. Every course, lab, patient interaction, and “beginner moment” is part of your growth 💪📚

Keep showing up. Keep learning. Your confidence will grow with experience 🙌

That’s why we always recommend building a strong clinical foundation first before jumping into advanced concepts 💡

A great beginner-friendly course to help build confidence with assessment and treatment fundamentals.

2️⃣ The Physical Therapy Approach for Dyspareunia

3️⃣ Physiotherapy in Perinatality

Not seeing immediate change after pelvic floor techniques can feel discouraging, but it is often part of the normal healing process 🌿

When we work with pelvic tissues, the body may temporarily return to its old pattern. This does not mean the treatment is not working.

Healing in pelvic health is a process, not an instant switch 🤍

Comfort matters, especially in sensitive areas of care 💙

The half-moon technique is a gentle, effective way to help improve introitus comfort through small, controlled movements. It supports muscle relaxation, reduces tension, and helps patients feel more at ease during treatment.

With the right guidance and approach, even simple techniques can make a meaningful difference in your patient’s experience.

Remember: when there’s protective contraction, guide your patient to take a deep breath and relax as you continue—this can help ease discomfort and improve outcomes.

Small steps, thoughtful care, better comfort ✨
