Location: Montreal, QC

Length of Contract: Nov 2025 - Jan 2026(flexible hours) with the possibility of extension to work on future productions.

Job Description:
The Technical Director will work in direct collaboration with the Artistic Director and with multiple Maison de la Culture technical staff in assessing and executing all technical aspects of the Shakti Rising touring project.
This person allocates the necessary technical, lighting design, and material resources to ensure the smooth ex*****on of the productions. Analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organized, the Technical Director coordinates communications and the technical needs for each production while ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and production requirements.

Amrita Dance Creations offers intercultural, multi-lingual, and cross-cultural productions in collaboration with multiple disciplines.

- Dancer, Choreographer, Educator

An award winning choreographer and dancer, Amrita Choudhury brings more than 35 years of international experience in performance, choreography, and teaching.

Amrita's intercultural and cross-cultural productions highlight socio-political and spiritual issues, using dance as a powerful tool for dialogue. She brings the opportunity to decolonize and democratize dance and its practice, through emphasis on diversity and inclusion.

Her productions echo this path through presenting evocative issues surrounding marginalized groups, women's stories, and human rights.

She works in building bridges and connecting communities through her work in dance and education.

Amrita studied dance in India, holds a degree in Anthropology, and has dedicated her dance research into the disappearing dance traditions that are native to the Indian subcontinent.

She feels that dance is a healing journey, where one can build a sense of power, offer hope and love, and work towards solidarity between people of the world.
