The Relational Self: Working with Individuals in the Relational Paradigm, May 23-June 27, I-4 p.m. Eastern. Our core training in Imago is to work with couples, yet so many of us also work with individual clients and see Imago as having enormous universal value. We have taken our passion for Imago theory and practice and brought it into our individual work, often without specific training that would help us to become most effective in this. The Relational Self training was developed by Wendy Patterson and Sophie Slade to fill that gap and will be presented by Sophie and the delightful Kevin Kowal – Imago Facilitator Faculty Associate. It offers a structure for a first and subsequent sessions with individual clients that will help them clarify their current challenges as well as their desired outcomes and plot a path between the two. It will help you construct clear contracts with your clients, give you skills to help them increase their awareness of their own reactive patterns and impact on others, give you tools to help them grieve and let go of past hurts and ineffective ways of being in relationship, explore aspects of your missing self that impacts your work that you can use also with clients, and much more. Supervision of sessions with individual clients is offered. A journey of self-discovery, professional development and connected learning for all who engage.

This is a required course for Imago Facilitators and of great value to Imago Therapists who work with individual clients. Discount for certified Imago therapists and anyone wishing to take it again. Today David and I are celebrating the anniversary of the start of our journey together. If we had not attended the "Getting the Love You Want" workshop in New York in 1991, it would have had a very different outcome to the joy we now experience each day being together. It hasn't always been easy but we have worked hard on our relationship using the tools and knowledge that we originally learned at that workshop. I am so impressed with the young people in their 30s who are willing to look at their relationships and learn how to be more successful in that area of their lives as well as in their careers. I gave another "Keeping the Love You Find" workshop in London last weekend and was again so thrilled by the young men and women who attended and were willing to be vulnerable and open. They give me a great deal of hope for the future of the world.
