A tree in a storm does not resist the wind. It bends because its roots hold.

Adaptogens work on the root system, not the branches. They do not stop life from moving you. They rather deepen what anchors you so that when the storm passes, you are still standing 🕯️


If you’re thinking of working with adaptogens or switching them up, I’ll be sharing a more detailed post on each herb soon.

So many of my clients are “doing everything right” on paper… and still feel stuck with the same symptoms 🌀

When we look closer, their nervous system has been quietly running one script for years: “I’m not safe.” Sometimes through generational or childhood beliefs, other times in the body through tightness in the gut or chest, shallow breathing and tension that never really lets go.

In that state, the body will always choose survival over healing.
Detox feels too intense, drainage slows down, energy drops and even tiny doses of supplements can trigger flares..

In a healthy state, emotions are meant to rise, be felt, and then naturally settle.
But for many people, that sequence gets interrupted for several reasons:

• We are in ongoing fight‑or‑flight: The nervous system is busy scanning for danger, not for inner reflection or healing.

• Life moves too fast: Stress, deadlines, caregiving, and constant stimulation mean we “push through” instead of pausing to feel.

• We lack tools and language: Many of us were never taught how to safely feel anger, grief, fear, or shame without being overwhelmed or judged.

• We’re taking on heavy collective emotions: when I tested to see where my Fear and Sorrow came from, a percentage of it came from my connection to my home country and being exposed to all the news around war.

When this happens, the emotional charge doesn’t just disappear. The body adapts by “parking” or storing it in patterns of muscle tension, breath holding, posture and organ stress.

Over time, these unprocessed emotions add to the burden of an already stressed system, raising cortisol levels, putting the body in states where physical healing cannot take place as effectively and causing physical symptoms to show up over time.
