The origins of Babs & Coco...
From as far back as I can remember, my mom & dad made me toys & other great works. They made toys not only for me, but for my sister and brothers, as well as my nieces and nephews. They never seemed to be happier as when they had wool, fabric or wood in their hands. Their creations bring me some of my fondest memories of them. From forts at our cottage and home; to ra

g dolls with "I love you stitched on their hearts"; as well as wooden doll houses with all the luxuries of home; and to a beach scene puppet theatre complete with flowing waves, my parents made us all very happy with their creations. We were very lucky. My husband and I were extremely lucky in other ways as well. Our sons--who warm our hearts and make us smile and laugh every day--were once orphans from Africa. So as a tribute to my mom and dad (nicknamed "Babs" & "Coconut"), and for the little ones who have not found their "forever" families, I created this one-woman cottage industry. My parents are now deceased, but when I'm sewing a doll or making a wooden surfboard, I hope they have twinkles in their eyes and grins on their faces .
