Hi Gorgeous!
It’s been longer than a little while since I last posted. This message is overdue so I’m scrapping any scripted drafts and writing from my heart.

My life has changed resulting in (amazing/unexpected/growth-expanding) changes to my business & personal life. Change is good, I promise, but for now, A Sorted Affair is in rest mode. Well, like, quasi rest mode.

I’m doing fun stuff like speaking events and lunch and learns at community-based organizations. I’m still writing my Ask an Organizer column in a local paper (Shout Out to the Eastern Shore Cooperator).

And truthfully, I’m gearing up for a mega personal project involving some SERIOUS renovations. I might even figure out how to edit a video or two-no promises. Does anyone know how to use TikTok?😂

My capacity for helping others to get their s**t figured out is limited as I attempt to figure out my own.

I have SO MUCH gratitude, appreciation and LOVE for all my clients, followers and supporters. You helped me start and grow a business during a worldwide pandemic (WTF?). I am beyond thankful for the connections I made both professionally and personally. From the bottom of my heart and the depths of my apron pockets, THANK YOU.❤️

We cleaned the house and decorated the tree today as a family. I only had to pull myself together once when I opened a box of decorations gifted to me from my mother.
The holidays can be exhausting & emotional.
Boxing Day will be the first anniversary of my father’s death. I’m being gentle. Oh so gentle with myself.
Grant yourself grace, take your time.

I noticed a change in my vision.
Confirmed-progressive lenses required.
Here’s your reminder to stop squinting and book an eye exam!

Love this storage solution! It’s simple and makes excellent use of otherwise wasted space. I suggest a good labeling system to easily identify bin contents.

I took advantage of the rainy day yesterday to address Levi’s room. He struggles with object permanence; if things are out of sight he has difficulty remembering they exist. We’ve come up with some design strategies that help him stay organized (as much as an 8 year old neurodivergent child can be!)

💟Beloved stuffies & board games on open shelves. I would prefer everything tucked away, out of sight, in baskets but that’s not how his brain works.
💟Clothing in large, pull out baskets in a wardrobe without doors; we don’t worry about folding clothing either! We’ve designated a drawer for craft supplies. Notice the clear containers and baskets without lids.
💟Books on a wheeled cart. Easy to see and move around in a small space.

It’s a work in progress, I know it won’t stay this tidy for long but that’s okay because we’ve created systems to make clean up easy & obvious!

I took my boys to open bank accounts last week and they received these little beach buckets. They are perfect for holding a small selection of beach supplies that we keep handy for lake days, like today!
