Glacé Clay can truly be used for so many different services, including a face mask for clients as a manner to decrease skin irritation after a men's shave. 🙌

✨ After completing the shave and cleaning the skin, you should mix the clay with your preferred cleanser to create the clay mask.
✨ Apply the mixture onto the face for 5 minutes, and remove the mask using cold water.
✨ This procedure will protect their skin from bacterial infection, skin irritation, itchiness, and redness. Once you are done cleansing your client's face with cold water, use an aftershave to soothe their skin.

Whether you currently offer clay baths as a service for your clients, or you're looking to expand your services to include clay baths, Glacé Spa Clay is a great product to use for this kind of service.

✨ Prep the skin by having your client take a hot shower using anti-bacterial soap to clean their body. Once dry, your client can put a swimsuit on and will bathe in hot water for 15 minutes. This will help to prepare the skin and soften it before soaking in a hot mud layer to achieve the best effect.
✨ Next, your client will submerge their body in the hot mineral clay, applying the clay to their face, hair and body. Advise your clients to avoid the eye area when applying the clay to their face. Your client should only soak in the clay for about 15 minutes.
✨ After the clay bath, allow your client to sit in a warm area for 5-7 minutes so the clay can absorb into the skin. If your client is warming outside, be careful your client isn't exposed to the sun for too long.
✨ Finally, the client should bathe in warm water to remove the clay. Be careful that the water isn't too cold and do not use soap or shower gels because the chemical will drift into the mineral layer of clay left on the skin and reduce the effect of the clay. Once clean, your client can sit to dry or go to the sauna so the skin can absorb the minerals faster.

Did you know that a scalp massage of 15-25 minutes twice a week can have a positive effect on stress hormone levels, blood pressure, and heart rate? 🙌

Apply Glacé Clay as a Booster to Shampoo or Conditioner for added benefits. Clay can be used pre-treatment to help clarify hair and remove oils that will
impact treatments like keratin treatments.

✨ Brush your clients' hair to avoid knots.
✨ Mix a scoop of clay into your salon mixture. Once the products are mixed and uniform, it is beneficial to heat the mixture. The reason behind heating is that it seeps better into your scalp and is more effective for the treatment.
✨ Before applying the clay, wash your hands. Dip your hands in the warm clay mixture and apply it to your clients' scalp. It's important that the clay reaches the scalp so that it can nourish the hair from the roots to the tips.
✨ Massage gently. Contrary to popular belief, massaging with extra aggression is not going to help the clay pe*******on be more effective.

As all spa owners know, ensuring our spa accessories remain clean and sanitary are integral to keeping our clients healthy, safe and happy. In order to keep your silicone mixing pouch clean, make sure you follow these cleaning tips:

✨ Clean the clay from the pouch immediately after use.
✨ Take a paper towel and absorb the extra clay. Wipe as much of the clay mixture away.
✨ Use dish soap to rinse the clay pouch. You may use a brush that
is safe to use on silicone products for a better clean.
✨ Use heat to disinfect the Clay by steaming or using hot water.

Our starter pack contains two different types of clay; The Booster Clay and the Signature Clay. 🙌 The main difference between the two is the Booster Clay is ultra-fine in order to be incorporated into any of your existing spa treatments, whereas the Signature Clay is meant to be used on its own as a standalone treatment.

✨ Boosters target specific skin concerns like enlarged pores, dehydration,
dullness, loss of firmness etc. Boosters can be powder or liquid. Examples of boosters can be oils, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Beta Glucan, and other ingredients.

Through a long-standing partnership, we have had access to the Xwémalhkwu (Homalco) traditional territory to harvest our magical clay. Proceeds of sales of our product are then put back into the community to help support the local fish hatchery, Grizzly Bear habitat enhancement, and next-generation cultural development!

One of the great things about Glacé Clay is the variety of ways in which you can use it on your clients. 🥰 Here's a couple of our favourites:

✨ Face Mask: the consistency of the clay should be thick and will not easily run down the skin. Start by applying the mask on the décolleté or neck area and slide upward toward the face in long feathering relaxing strokes. You can use a brush or your clean fingers. Pro tip: you can also use it as a spot treatment into a facial.

✨ Hair/scalp: make sure the clay covers the entire scalp as it will provide enrichment to the skin. Coat the strands of hair evenly with the product from root to tip and leave the clay on the skin for about 15 minutes. Afterward, wash the hair with a mild shampoo and some deep conditioner. Add a little of the clay to the conditioner. Rinse the hair completely under lukewarm water.

✨ Body: the clay is applied to the body (avoid any open wounds) in a thick layer. Wait for the mud to dry. If applying it as a body mask, wait about 10-15 mins for it to dry. Or, if you are doing a wrap, first wrap your client in
a plastic sheet, then add a warm clean blanket and have them rest for 20 minutes. Rinse the body well with warm water.

✨ Hands/feet: coat the whole hands and feet with the clay mixture. Leave on for 10 mins for optimum healing benefits. Rinse the hands/feet clean.

Glacé Spa Clay is a new concept created by Glacial Bay Organic Clay. Our exclusive Glacial Marine Clay is harvested from an active glacier located on Canada’s magical and beautiful West Coast, British Columbia! 🏔

You're probably wondering how we ensure our product doesn't have a detrimental impact on the environment. Sustainable management and preserving our environment is very important to us. 🌎 In order to create the lowest possible carbon footprint, we use sustainable methods of production, such as hand-harvesting, solar drying, and minimal packaging. 🤗

Additionally, we rotate between the areas of our 10 claims to ensure we do not harvest from the same area for 5 years. We only harvest the clay from the top 12- 18 inches of the surface as this region has the richest aerobic clay full of good microbiomes. Thus, we allow time for each harvest to be replenished with between 15-20 inches of clay before we harvest again!
