To my mind, one of the hardest bits of parenting is managing our own overwhelm and low capacity while trying to support our kids in managing theirs.

We expect them to do it perfectly, while we continue to do it so very imperfectly. But. The adults have power on their side. The kids don’t.

I don’t have a great solution for it.
It’s really really hard.

I’ll think on it some more.
