“The one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres… will be blessed in his doing.”
— James 1:25
What if real freedom isn’t doing whatever we feel…
but being transformed so we can do what is good?
Lent is not about religious pressure.
It’s about discovering how Jesus’ Perfect Law of Liberty sets us free from:
• Mental ruts we can’t escape
• Emotional surges that control us
• Habits that master us
• Faith that stays in our heads but never reaches our hands
James tells us that Word (The Good News of Jesus in the Scriptures) is not a burden; it is a mirror that reveals who we truly are and who we are becoming in Christ (James 1:23–25). When we look into it and hold on to it, something shifts. The Word moves from information… to transformation.
Through the Life, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus, the law is no longer external pressure, it becomes internal power.
Not condemnation, but liberation.
Not shame, but strength.
Not self-effort alone, but Spirit-empowered obedience.
This Lent, we’re exploring how the Law of Liberty:
Rewires thought patterns
Calms reactive emotions
Breaks destructive cycles
Forms us into those who act out of true freedom
Freedom is not the absence of restraint.
Freedom is the restoration of right desire.
If you’re tired of feeling stuck — mentally, emotionally, spiritually, practically — this season is for you.
Join us as we discover how Christ’s perfect law doesn’t trap us…
It sets us free.
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday Feb 18th but this Sunday at Christ’s Church we will help you prepare for your Lenten Journey of transformation.
