🔬Professional Development Announcement🔬

I’m pleased to share that I’ve officially been enrolled in the Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) training program with Vodder School International—a globally recognized leader in lymphatic therapy education.

This advanced training will allow me to provide evidence-based, medically-indicated care to clients experiencing a wide range of conditions related to lymphatic dysfunction. Once certified, I will be able to incorporate the Vodder method of MLD, a gentle and highly specialized technique, into my practice.

Clinical indications for MLD include:
• Lymphedema (primary and secondary, including post-cancer treatment)
• Post-surgical edema (cosmetic and orthopedic procedures, mastectomy, joint replacements)
• Chronic venous insufficiency
• Lipedema
• Post-traumatic swelling and hematomas
• Scar tissue management
• Sinus congestion and chronic rhinitis
• Migraine and tension-type headaches
• Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome
• Digestive issues with lymphatic involvement
• General immune and detox support

MLD is a safe and effective modality used in both clinical and wellness settings. It is widely integrated into care plans for oncology patients, individuals recovering from surgery, and those managing chronic inflammatory or lymphatic conditions.

I look forward to sharing more as I progress through the training and eventually offering this specialized service to support my clients’ recovery, wellness, and quality of life.

Thank you to Julie Liard from Mortgage Architects for generously providing signage this year - so we can get the word out to even more people who might not be on FB. The signs will be going up next week. Also, I’m excited to announce that Steve Ernst from DJ Concepts will be providing us with some lively music for the morning.

Can’t wait to see you all at Admirals Walk on Saturday, April 20 at 10:00am for registration and then at 11:30 for a bbq provided by No Frills and Greg Lewis.

Reminder that this event is a great morning for children to enjoy the fresh air while hunting for ‘trashure’. Also, any high school students looking for volunteer hours.

Just a reminder as we see our first snow fall of the season in Newcastle. It’s not a lot of snow today but here are some helpful tips for shovelling as we move further into winter.

Protect your back. If you don’t maintain correct posture as you clear your driveway, you could seriously damage your back.

Try to push the snow rather than lifting it to avoid unnecessary strain.

Don’t bend at your waist! Bend your knees to squat, and use the strength of your legs to lift the shovel.

Engage your core muscles to help keep your spine neutral, and don’t forget to breathe.

Clear the snow layer by layer to lessen the weight of each shovel load. This way you’ll be much less likely to be in pain at the end of the day.

Don’t try to do it all at once! Take breaks as often as you need them.

Treat snow shoveling just as you would any other form of exercise. Dress appropriately, and warm up before you begin.
