***FLU SHOTS ARE COMING***

Happy Thanksgiving! New Care Pharmacy will be receiving and administering flu shots (regular & high-dose) starting MONDAY OCTOBER 18.

Read below to find out who is eligible and how to register at New Care Pharmacy:

*****ELIGIBILITY:
- Age: 2+ years old
- Bring health card
OR if out-of-province visitor: ID & proof of Ontario address/work/school
- October will PRIORITIZE: hospital patients & staff, long-term care residents & staff, health care providers, and individuals in GROUP 1 (link: https://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/pro/programs/publichealth/flu/uiip/default.aspx)
- November onward: general population

*Option 1: APPOINTMENT-BASED:

- Wait to receive a booking link to sign up for specific date/time

*Option 2: WALK-IN:
- Wait times & availabilities will vary depending on # of scheduled appointments, queued prescriptions, and flu shot doses remaining

Hope everyone is having a safe and happy holiday! To comply with COVID-19 by-laws, New Care Pharmacy will now be limiting the number of customers in the store to *3*. This will help facilitate social distancing of 2 m and limit the spread of the virus.

Flu shots for the 2020/2021 seasons have arrived and the pharmacy is starting to take appointments! We are hosting a FLU CLINIC this upcoming Thursday October 15.

We understand you may be feeling some anxiety regarding the current COVID-19 outbreak . As your pharmacy team, we want to give you information that can help protect yourself and your loved ones. We are doing our part to frequently sanitize common surfaces such as the counters in the pharmacy.

Pharmacies will most likely NOT be closing so there is no need to worry if you need medications.

Here are some preventative strategies and things to keep in mind:

🔸 Self isolate if you’re sick, cover your mouth when coughing, wash hands often & stay away from others.

🔸 Social distancing – if you don’t have to go out, DO NOT! A healthy individual may be able to recover from the virus, however you may still be a carrier and therefore may infect others who are at greater risk: the elderly & immunocompromised.

🔸 Avoid people that are sick and if you must leave your home – keep a 6-foot distance from others!

🔸 We want to reassure you that stock piling medications is NOT necessary. By working together, we can ensure drug shortages do not become an issue & everyone has the medications they need.

The BEST way to prevent the virus is proper hand washing with warm soap and water for at least 30 seconds.
