~This is Your Awakening~

A time comes in your life when you finally get it…. or at least begin to. When in the midst of all your fears and insanity you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere the voice inside your head cries out……….. ENOUGH

Enough fighting and crying or struggling to hold on.

And, like a child quieting down after a blind tantrum, your sobs begin to subside, you shudder once or twice, you blink back your tears, and through a mantle of wet lashes you begin to look at the world through new eyes. This is your awakening.

You realize that it’s time to stop hoping and waiting for something to change or for happiness, safety and security to come galloping over the next horizon. You come to terms with the fact that he is not Prince Charming and you are not Cinderella and that in the real world there aren’t always fairytale endings (or beginnings for that matter), and that any guarantee of “happily ever after” must begin with you.

And in the process, a sense of serenity is born of acceptance.

You awaken to the fact that you are not perfect and that not everyone will always love, appreciate or approve of who or what you are….. and that’s ok. (They are entitled to their own views and opinions) And you learn the importance of loving and championing yourself; and in the process a sense of new found confidence is born of self-approval.

You stop bitching and blaming other people for the things they did to you (or didn’t do to you) and you learn that the only thing you can really count on is the unexpected. You learn that people don’t always say what they mean or mean what they say, and that not everyone will always be there for you; and that it’s not always about you. So, you learn to stand on your own and to take care of yourself.

And in the process, a sense of safety and security is born of self-reliance.

You stop judging and pointing fingers – and you begin to accept people as they are, and to overlook their shortcomings and human frailties.

And in the process a sense of peace and contentment is born of forgiveness.

You realize that much of the way you view yourself and the world around you is as a result of all the messages and opinions that have been ingrained into your psyche. And you begin to sift through all the nonsense you’ve been fed about how you should behave, how you should look, and how much you should weigh, what you should wear and where you should shop. What you should drive, how and where you should live, and what you should do for a living. Who you should marry and what you should expect of marriage, or the importance of having and raising children.

You learn to open up to new worlds and different points of view, and you begin reassessing and redefining who you are and what you really stand for. You learn the difference between wanting and needing and you begin to discard the doctrines and values you’ve outgrown, or should never have bought into to begin with.

And in the process, you learn to go with your instincts.

You learn that it is truly in giving that we receive; and that there is power and glory in creating and contributing. You stop maneuvering through life merely as a consumer looking for a fix.

You learn that principles such as honesty and integrity are not the outdated ideals of a bygone era, but the mortar that holds together the foundation upon which you much build a life. You learn that you don’t know everything. It’s not your job to save the world….. and that you can’t teach a pig to sing. You learn to distinguish between guilt and responsibility, and the importance of setting boundaries, and learning to say NO.

You learn that the only cross to bear is the one you choose to carry, and that martyrs get burned at the stake.

Then you learn about love -- romantic love and familial love; how to love, how much to give in love, when to stop giving, and when to walk away. You learn not to project your needs or your feelings onto a relationship. You learn that you will not be more beautiful, more intelligent, more lovable or important because of a man on your arm or the child that bears your name. You learn to look at relationships as they really are and not as you would have them be. You stop trying to control people, situations and outcomes. You learn that just as people grow and change, so it is with love …..and you learn that you don’t have the right to demand love on your terms – just to make you happy.

And you learn that alone does not mean lonely. And you look in the mirror and come to terms with the fact that you will never be the size 5 or a perfect 10, and you stop trying to compete with the image inside your head and agonizing over how you “stack up”. You also stop working so hard at putting your feelings aside, smoothing things over and ignoring your needs. You learn that feelings of entitlement are perfectly ok and that it is your right to want things and to ask for the things that you want…. and that sometimes it is necessary to make demands.

You come to the realization that you deserve to be treated with love, kindness, sensitivity and respect, and you won’t settle for less. And you allow only the hands of a lover who cherishes you to glorify you with his touch.

And in the process you internalize the meaning of self-respect.

And you learn that your body really is your temple and you begin to care for it and treat it with respect. You begin eating a balanced diet, drinking more water and taking more time to exercise. You learn that fatigue diminishes the spirit and can create doubt and fear. So you take more time to rest. And just as food fuels the body, laughter fuels your soul. So you take more time to laugh and to play.

You learn that for the most part in life you get what you believe you deserve – and that much of life truly is a self-fulfilling prophecy. You learn that anything worth achieving is worth working for, and that wishing for something to happen is different from working towards making it happen. More importantly, you learn that in order to achieve success you need direction, discipline and perseverance. You also learn that no one can do it all alone and that it’s ok to risk asking for help.

You learn that the only thing you must truly fear is the great robber baron of all time. FEAR itself. You learn to step right into and through your fears because you know that whatever happens you can handle it and to give in to fear is to give away the right to live life on your terms.

You and learn to fight for your life and not to squander it living under a cloud of impending doom. You learn that life isn’t always fair, you don’t always get what you think you deserve, and that sometimes bad things happen to unsuspecting, good people.

On these occasions, you learn not to personalize things.

You learn to admit when you are wrong and to building bridges instead of walls. You learn to be thankful and to take comfort in many of the simple things we take for granted, things that millions of people upon the earth can only dream about – a full refrigerator, clean running water, a soft warm bed and a long hot shower.

Slowly, you begin to take responsibility for yourself by yourself, and you make a promise to yourself to never betray yourself and to never, ever settle for less that your heart’s desire.

And you hang a wind chime outside your window so you can listen to the wind, and you make it a point to keep smiling, to keep trusting, and to stay open to every wonderful possibility.

Finally, with courage and faith in your heart, you take a stand, you take a deep breath, and you begin to design the life you want to live as best as you can.

In 2012, I wrote a blog post about the world approaching a “shift”. There was a lot of chatter in the alternative communities. So much written about the world leading to December 21, 2012.

So now, we read and hear about a shift in human consciousness, and I will tell you, this idea has been done before. For some of us, this seems like a re-do, a Plan B, a second run. Or was 2012 a test for the real deal that was meant to happen now, but this shift, along the way, has been hijacked?

The 2012 concept was about enlightenment. From 2020 to the present, it’s been a spiritual war — the Great Awakening vs. the Great Reset. From self-fulfilling prophecy to an awareness of a hijacking.

It all makes sense when we look at it from the perspective that — everything boils down to the Law of Attraction. And who has the ability of manifest (We do.) and those who…. don’t.

But in 2012, there was not a critical mass, a tipping point of collective awareness. In comparison to what I see now, we were no where’s close to a critical mass. Here’s a clear example, for me anyways. In the last couple years, so many have noticed the evil that has infiltrated into the Grammy Awards performances and halftime performances at Superbowl.

At the 2012 Grammy’s, the one that could be seen as a ceremony, or ritual, to Whitney’s “death”, Nikki Manaj’s performance was an exorcism for Roman, one of the personalities or alters to her DID system. (Dissociative Identity Disorder). And the Superbowl Halftime was Madonna, coming out as a High Priestess — the days when Madonna held the title that Beyonce now has — finishing off with a drop into the ground while singing the last line to her satanic song, Like a Prayer, “I hear you call my name, and it feels like home.” You can easily find both on YouTube.

It’s not new. But the collective eyes of the critical mass are.

We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are.

Here’s what was originally written and published in 2012. We’ve been talking about, and working towards, “the shift” for thirteen years now. Thirteen years.

Hindsight is 20/20. We can see now, in looking back, what happened in these thirteen years.

2012…

So, this thought suddenly came to me one day….

Whether or not something global is or was about to happen, it doesn’t even matter anymore.

Not if you believe in the Law of Attraction.

What if all of this was a farce? All this talk of debate about the end of days vs. human evolution; all this belief in the gathering of data validating a mystical prophecy. We have been fed it constantly and consistently for years now so who cares anymore if any of it is true or not? If we are a critical mass, we may very well be creating what all the passionately influential authors and fear mongering media have been focused on and passing on to us all on our own. All by our little selves.

A self-fulfilling prophecy in its grandest scale.

The question is, are we at a critical mass? A tipping point?

~Believe~

There’s an old saying, “Out with the old; in with the new.”

It has been applied to many areas of life, from philosophical use to business name. When thinking of the events that seem to be happening in collusion with this universal shift, this mantra can explain what is psychologically happening to just about everyone, each at their own rate and intensity, using their own personal means. The pace all depends on the individual’s decision to either accept or resist what is going on with them.

The old and the new I am referring to here are our core beliefs, priorities and values. Many things we believe to be true about ourselves and our world, we are all having to question these days.

Have you wrapped your head around it yet? We’ve been living our lives, all these years, based on a set of illusions!

In my own personal experience, from what I’m hearing from many people crossing my path in the last 15 years and from the research I often start my days off with, there are definitely patterns rising above and showing their determined faces to the world. These patterns reflect a list of some beliefs that are being shifted within each one of us.

Common and presently occurring shifts of what we believe:

FROM believing other people’s needs are more important than ours TO our needs are just as important.

FROM believing we are responsible for other people’s feelings, thoughts and reactions TO believing each person’s thoughts, feelings and reactions are their own choices based on their own beliefs and past experiences.

FROM believing boundaries are selfish TO believing they are healthy and are our rights as human beings.

FROM believing it’s unproductive to do nothing TO finding the value and importance in introspection and reflection found in down-time.

FROM believing in one concrete set of beliefs about each situation in life TO opening up to a world of possibilities.

FROM believing a limited set of beliefs about what it means to be an adult TO incorporating more creativity, spontaneity, adventure and child’s play in our lives.

FROM believing life is a long series of random events TO understanding there is a pre-set and agreed-upon plan for each of us, all connected, with the goal for each of us to learn a personally pre-set chain of life lessons for this lifetime, as well as discovering a very meaningful purpose for this lifetime — HOWEVER, we have the free will to either follow this plan or not.

FROM feeling there is a hierarchy of value and importance in people TO everyone is equal.

FROM believing success is determined by how much money we make and how many possessions we have TO how we treat ourselves, others and how much balanced love we have in our lives.
(end of 2012 post)

Now -- So, can you see where we all got hijacked?

And what are we going to do about it?

Freakin’ crazy question, that is. But it’s so simple, it’s well, we’re back to crazy again.

The answer is simply, find your bliss. Embrace what truly makes you feel happiness.

Feeling happy is the greatest form of rebellion and act of war we, as individuals, can contribute.
Saying it, typing it, is the simple part. Accomplishing happiness in these days is another thing. I get it. This is just the starting point. And everyone’s solution to happiness is a different one.

If it was easy, it wouldn’t be the most important thing right now, right?

But it is.

When you are happy, your vibration goes up. And then it goes out. It contributes. And it’s the best way right now to say, “F**k you!” to the nasties.

Because the #1 goal of our enemy right now is to make you miserable. To drive your vibration down.

WE ARE THE CREATORS and driving us to misery creates more misery. Do you see?

The hard part is finding a way to give yourself permission to do what makes you happy.

Regardless of whether you choose to address this or not, the shift is coming. We do now, have critical mass.

So, just for today, start with one thing. Find something that makes you happy. Something little. In fact, it’s usually the little things that have more power to make us feel true happiness.

Find one thing.

B tru 2 U.

And when it feels like everything is out of your control, find something that you can control.

I often do the dishes.

LIGHTWORKER’S WAY
Column 71
(As published in the Spiritual Niagara newsletter September, 2016.)

“Intuition makes sense after you follow it, not before. You don’t get to know the beauty unless you take the risk.” ~ McCall Erickson

Happy Autumn, my beautiful lightworker friends! I hope everyone enjoyed their summer and were somehow enhanced and inspired by it, no matter what it entailed. When looking back on the last few months, if you had to come up with a phrase or title for your summer, what would it be? What would the lightworker purpose and/or lesson of the summer of 2016 be for you? For me, I would called mine the summer of a “Life-altering Transition”, with the first part of it dealing with the last days of my father’s life, the highlight or peak right in the middle of the summer with his passing, and the rest of the summer days experiencing the outcome, my soul shifted and my vibe heightened. I faced a huge fear and reconnected with someone I’ve been needing to. My unique and incredible path is now guided as well by Dad, along with my other very active and magnificent guides. In partnership and in subsequence, I did quite a bit of writing. My guides are so pleased with me, finally.

And now here we are in Autumn already once again, my favourite season. Autumn brings new beginnings for me. I believe it goes back to my school days. I’m sure many can relate. We spent so many Septembers starting a new school year, a new grade, new teachers, sometimes making new friends. It makes sense that the feeling of “new beginnings” is engrained into us when the shift of cooler weather creeps in, like a trigger.

New beginnings can look different to each of us, inspired and played out in a multitude of diverse fashions.

I take great pride when I share with people a phrase that describes my way of living, of being, “I operate on intuition”. I once heard this in a movie and it resonated greatly. This to me is magical as I find there are many potential new beginnings and opportunities out there for us that we don’t even know are waiting for us as long as we are making decisions based on our logical minds and what we feel others expect from us.

Easier said than done, don’t you agree?

This requires us to pay attention, notice the inner and outer signs and messages, and finally to trust our intuition.

However intuitive thoughts, feelings and images most often don’t come with details. There is no explanation attached to whatever comes. And furthermore, what comes to us intuitively frequently doesn’t make sense. There is not a straight line of sight to where the universe, our higher selves and our guides are taking us. They are even known to go against logical thought.

Therein lies the test.

Operating intuitively to live a purposeful and magical life requires a continuance of leaps of faith. Sounds scary? I think it’s meant to be. And lo and behold, the universe says, “You want a purposeful and magical life? Your wish is my command! And now, it’s time to face your fears.”

To many, taking a leap of faith can be like having the courage to take the risk and move through a scary and dark doorway. You don’t know what’s on the other side. And you are not meant to.

Hindsight’s 20/20

Defined as a perfect understanding of events only after they have happened, a phrase first coined by Billy Wilder many moons ago, I’ve come to realize this term hindsight is 20/20 is quite essential to the lightworker experience. As my opening quote states, we can only make sense of our intuitive nudges after the occurrence. In our world, we have to learn how to let go of all possible control and have faith in what is.

Obstacles

If you need to feel in control of your life, if you need the guarantee before you make a move, if you are afraid of taking risk, if you live your life avoiding the “making of mistakes” or of “falling and failing”, it will be extremely difficult to follow an intuitive path. In the end, your true path and purpose will be hidden. Notice I put quotes around the above terms. This is because they are not terms I would necessarily use. I see these words only as a perception. I don’t believe in mistakes, falling or failing. I see those choices and experiences as learning opportunities and therefore, necessary. So I am merely quoting others. They are not my words here, as the author of this article. Given that, these perceptions of mistakes, falling and failing are very real for many and add to each lightworker’s journey so I am not disregarding or minimizing them.

A Matter of Timing

The universe is a wild and mysterious creature we are enmeshed and intertwined with. There seems to be an overall agenda and as lightworkers, in these days our roles are crucial to its goals. We are being called upon to enact our chosen purpose and fulfill our promise (a promise we seemed to have made as souls prior to birth) to lead the world into this shift of consciousness. There is a balance. And there seems to be timelines. To me, in these last few years, it almost feels like our sense of free will is being squeezed. We do still have the freedom of choice but if we make a choice that goes against the universal plan, the consequences seem to be getting heavier. For example, for me, I kept getting distracted from my main purpose – to writing a novel series I’ve been working on for years. And so, I had my distractions taken from me. For others, their bodies might be screaming to make change or take action that is being repeatedly avoided by producing a physical illness or ailment the medical professionals can’t seem to correct or cure.

There are expectations upon us. I feel it’s important that we learn to trust in this timing. We have our own free will but it seems to need to work in partnership with the universal timing. Our intuition will guide us to stay aligned. There are many times – like deadlines – when we have to make bold moves but aren’t supposed to find out why until the right time. I have been made aware of several occurrences on my path in the last seven years. Sometimes these occurrences of timing can seem magical. For example, I lived in a house that had 2 locks on the basement door, one being a chain lock. Yet it wasn’t until six years after the day I moved in that I was allowed to see this in a peculiar way and question “Why? Why is it necessary to put not only one but two locks on a door only going to the basement?” We can see things without actually noticing the significance or oddness until we are meant to. This perception of hindsight being 20/20 fits in with this mysterious universal alignment. If we are allowed to see the details of our intuition at the time of the intuition nudge, we may change the course of events that our meant to arise in their perfect timing.

In the end, my magical lightworker friends, we will all know this universal agenda. But for now, it’s a good time to follow in faith, rising to our intuitive callings and be the magnificent souls we have chosen to be! In the right time, we will know all…. in hindsight.
