This week, we celebrate my son, Aviator Kyle Bauer, on his graduation from the Canadian Armed Forces Basic Military Qualification (BMQ) at the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School (CFLRS) in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
This marks the end of nine weeks of intense physical training, classroom learning, and military skills development — and Kyle not only completed it, he excelled. He was honoured with:
🏆 Best Athlete Trophy
💪 Highest Score in Physical Training Tests
📚 Highest Overall Basic Qualification Score
🌟 Most Dedication to Personal Growth and Professional Development
🤝 Royal Canadian Legion Comradeship Award (nominated by his platoon)
The military’s core values — Loyalty, Integrity, Courage, Excellence, Inclusion, and Accountability — are not just principles Kyle learned during training; they’ve always been a part of who he is. These values have guided him through school, friendships, family, relationships, and every job he’s ever had. It’s not a uniform he puts on — it’s who he is at his core.
As he continues his journey in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Paramedic, Kyle is living his life’s purpose — one of service, dedication, and compassion. He sacrifices his comfort, safety, time, and energy for the greater good of Canada and its citizens.
While this week is a celebration of Kyle’s incredible accomplishments, it’s also a moment to recognize the sacrifices made by so many — those who serve, their families, and the communities who stand behind them. It takes collective strength, love, and understanding to support those who dedicate their lives to serving others, and we are deeply grateful to be part of that community.
Thank you to everyone who supported Kyle throughout this journey, and to those who supported us attending this milestone ceremony. Seeing our son in uniform after his long and challenging training was a moment we will cherish forever.
Congratulations, Aviator Bauer — my son ❤️🇨🇦🤍
