Raising teenage girls today can feel confusing, emotional, and at times hard to read. What looks dramatic, inconsistent, or even concerning may sometimes be part of healthy development.
The real challenge is knowing when a teen is simply moving through normal developmental tension and when they may be feeling stuck at one extreme.
This is where support, steadiness, and perspective matter.
Inspired by Untangled by clinical psychologist Dr. Lisa Damour, this post highlights an important truth: adolescence is not a smooth transition. It’s a messy, nonlinear process full of pushing, pulling, testing, and growing.
