Regarding Donald J. Trump:
In Canada, what laws prohibit a felon from entering Canada?
Individuals with felony convictions face restrictions entering Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). (This includes visitation.)
Canada bars entry under IRPA Section 36, which deems individuals “criminally inadmissible” if they have:
• A conviction for an offence punishable in Canada by a maximum prison term of 10+ years (equivalent to an indictable offence).
• Two or more convictions for offences punishable in Canada by a maximum term of less than 10 years (summary or hybrid offences).
Donald J. Trump’s felony convictions fall within IRPA Section 36.
Procedures to Overcome Inadmissibility do not apply to Donald J. Trump.
I support the Canadian government applying IRPA Section 36 to Donald J . Trump.
Donald J. Trump scoffs at his criminal convictions. I suggest Canada and other countries do not support his attitude to the rule of law noby inviting or welcoming him. I support any politician that proposes or supports applying IRPA SECTION 36 to Donald J. Trump and oppose any politician that does not.
