Motherhood Is a Practice, Not Perfection.
Motherhood, it turns out, has more in common with climbing than we might think.
Today I listened to a podcast episode of Diary of a CEO with Alex Honnold.
Some of you may know him—he’s a world-famous climber. He didn’t become the best overnight. What struck me most was his focus. For years he practiced climbing five days a week. Yes, he loves it, but love alone isn’t enough to become great at something. What really makes the difference is consistent practice.
It made me think about motherhood.
Even when you deeply love your baby, the transition into motherhood isn’t always easy. Confidence doesn’t appear overnight—it grows through everyday experience, one day at a time.
Yes, I just compared climbing to motherhood… and honestly, I think it’s a pretty accurate comparison.
Shoutout to all the new moms out there. 💛(FYI: the transition to motherhood can take up to about four years.)
Any other moms here who feel like confidence in motherhood comes with practice?
