On-Site Partnerships with Community Organizations Hello, and welcome!

My name is Karen. Based in Ontario, Canada I provide online psychotherapy and/or art therapy. I am curious, patient, open, reflective and supportive. I will help you understand what motivates your thoughts and actions. I will help you find effective ways of coping with problems. I may at times gently challenge you (e.g. to think about things in a different way and be open to new ideas) but I will do so with empathy and only when the timing feels right and you are ready. It's very important that you feel comfortable and at ease with me. If you'd like to know more about my therapeutic style or more information about how I work, I'm happy to offer a FREE no obligation 20-minute consult.

Beginning therapy can seem daunting, yet it represents a significant move towards greater clarity and self-awareness. Taking small steps allows you to gradually build comfort with the process, making it easier to explore deeper issues at your own pace.

Releasing the pressure of constant productivity doesn’t equate to failure; it reflects a respect for your personal boundaries. Embracing balance allows you to recharge and strengthen your resilience.

Prioritizing self-care is essential to prevent burnout and promote mental well-being.

🧘‍♀️ Take time for yourself!

If you struggle with guilt when taking a break, this feeling may stem from internalized beliefs about productivity.

It's essential to recognize that self-care is vital for your well-being and enhances your overall effectiveness. You deserve this time to recharge! 🛌

A new year often brings reflection—and with it, pressure to change everything at once.

But big, dramatic resolutions aren’t the only (or most sustainable) way to grow.

In my latest blog post, I share how small, intentional steps in health, relationships, work, and hobbies can create meaningful change—without the pressure to reinvent yourself.

You don’t need to reinvent yourself because it’s a new year. It can simply be a time to reflect on what’s working, what’s not, and where you might want to make small changes.

Even small shifts matter. Take things at your own pace, using the insight you’ve already built.

Wishing you a year of self-compassion and steady growth.

It’s completely normal to have needs — things like wanting support, rest, connection, understanding, or space. Noticing and naming these needs is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Being aware of what supports you emotionally can help you treat yourself with more compassion and improve your overall well-being. And reaching out for support when you need it is an important part of taking care of yourself.

Today can bring up a mix of feelings. For some people it’s a joyful day; for others it can feel stressful, lonely, complicated, or just like any other day. Whatever your experience is, it’s valid.

It’s okay to take a moment for yourself, pause, and stay connected to what helps you feel steady.

Wishing you a day that supports what you need.

Wondering how long therapy lasts? It varies depending on your goals and circumstances.

Some concerns can be worked through in a few months, while more complex or long-standing issues may take longer. Others choose to stay in therapy because it continues to support their well-being in different areas of life. Everyone’s path is unique, and there’s no one “right” timeline.
