Embryology establishes the structural continuity of the body.
From this continuity arises:
1. Fascial networks
2. Visceral suspensory systems
3. Musculoskeletal mechanics
These systems converge in the pelvis, where connective tissues, viscera, and skeletal structures interact to influence motion along the pelvic axes.
Thus pelvic dysfunction can arise from:
• musculoskeletal restrictions
• fascial tension patterns
• visceral mobility limitations
• developmental structural relationships
Understanding the embryologic origins of these tissues helps clinicians appreciate why pelvic biomechanics must be evaluated systemically rather than locally.
