Retin-A
A deeper look.
Q - At what age should you start using Retin- A in your skin care routine?
A- For anti-aging purposes, you can start preventatively in your 20s.
Q- what are the benefits to using Retin-A?
A- Retinol increases skin cell production (proliferation). It helps unclog pores. Retinol also exfoliates your skin and increases collagen production, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving your skin a fresher, plump appearance.
Q- how can I tell if Britney is working on my skin?
A- While prescription-strength retinoids may have an effect in a matter of weeks, it can take up to 6 months for OTC retinols to produce the same results. You may notice a difference in conditions like acne after 12 weeks, but sun damage and signs of aging can take much, much longer to improve.
Q- How do I use Retin A?
A- Below is step by step!
1. Wash your face thoroughly with your favourite alcohol-free cleanser and pat dry (do not rub).
2. After washing, wait at least 10 minutes before applying Retin-A to be certain that the skin is totally dry. Skin that is wet, damp, or even moist tends to absorb cream quickly, which may cause unnecessary irritation.
3. After your face is totally dry, squeeze a pearl-sized amount (about a ¼” diameter) of Retin-A onto your fingertip. Using more than a pearl-sized amount will not increase your results and may cause irritation.
4. Dab it on your forehead, chin, and both cheeks but not immediately under your eyes.
Pat your skin so the small dabs begin to spread into a thin layer that covers your entire face. Smooth into skin until all white streaks have disappeared.
5. After applying Retin-A, you may apply a moisturizer.
A few of my favourite over the counter Retin-A products are seen in the following pics!
Good luck!
