With a heavy heart and yet thankful she is not suffering anymore, I share the passing of my little sister whom I will miss terribly. I will cherish all my memories of her. She was an exceptional human and I was blessed to have her in my life.

HELEN COLLEEN PHILLIPS

On a rainy day on April 3, 2024, Helen Colleen Phillips passed away in her 63rd year, surrounded by her loving family. Devoted life partner to Gregory Moss, adoring sister to Diane, Danny (Karen), Patrick, Darlene, David, and wonderful cousin who grew up as a brother to her, Paul Raftis. She was the most magical Snow White (Aunt) to her Seven Dwarfs: Daniel (Kim), Matthew (Marie), Scott, Jennifer, Chelsey (Justin), Sammy (Dane), Connor (Myra), and Sophie. She has spent the last 8 years bringing joy to her great nieces and nephews: Ally, Oliver, Rylee, Nathan, Braydon, and Weston – with more on their way! She loved and doted on her Dwarfs and the Wee Ones with great pleasure. Colleen is predeceased by her parents Allan and Genevieve Phillips, and her faithful rescue dog, Finnegan. She went to school at St. Anthony’s, JJ McGrand, and Loretto College School in Toronto, finding a lifelong best friend in Lydia Attard. She brought compassion to all of her workplaces at Stork Diaper Service, Leisureworld, Leisure Care, Thorium Contracting, and Sola Industries. Against all odds, Colleen fought cancer and lymphedema for over 4 years, with endless grace and humility. An Angel on Earth, Colleen consistently and generously uplifted every living being she encountered. Her family will always treasure her vibrant, kind, and wise spirit. Friends and family are invited to attend a Visitation on Sunday, April 7th from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3164 Ninth Line in Oakville, (905) 257-1100. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 8th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 11 Peter St S in Mississauga. Reception to follow at Glen Oaks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated. Colleen always hoped this to be a celebration of her life, so colourful attire is encouraged. Colleen, we love you and will cherish you always.
