Cold doesn’t need hours — minutes can be enough.
Cold temperatures, wind, and dehydration increase your risk. It is important to drink water regularly — coffee alone isn’t enough. Dress appropriately, and limit time outdoors when temperatures drop. If you’ve been exposed to extreme cold, never use hot water to rewarm affected areas. Use warm water instead and remove any wet clothing immediately.
