👋I thought it was about time I introduced myself again here! 👋
Hi! I'm Jill Bailey, a family physician with a practice focused on mental health and addictions. After 14 years of general family practice in Orangeville, I now split my time between the inpatient addiction medicine program at Homewood Health Centre, and providing CBT focused psychotherapy both in the Dufferin area, and virtually for all Ontario residents with www.teleCBT.ca. I have a special interest in health care provider wellbeing and supporting people coping with life-altering medical issues.
I am a trained MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) and MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy) facilitator through the Toronto Centre for Mindfulness Studies. I also created my own group program for people with cancer and their loved ones called "Ray of Hope", in honour of my father in law Ray who passed away from cancer in 2020.
As a part of the mindfulness facilitator training, the first step was to take the course myself. It was absolutely life-changing to discover how stepping back, and noticing my experience without judgement impacted my life in small and profound ways.
Facilitating mindfulness groups is now the highlight of my week! The group experience always deepens my own mindfulness practice, and I am continuously inspired by each participant, learning right along with you.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 4 boys, walking our dog in nature with a podcast in my ear or chatting with a friend.
I'm glad you're here!
