Mel Grime joins us for a powerful conversation about perfectionism, people-pleasing, and the “stiff upper lip” she learned growing up in England with an alcoholic father.

One quiet moment with her son became the turning point.

We talk motherhood as a mirror, yoga as a path back to self, and what it really takes to stop living who you should be,
and start living who you are. ✨

This episode helps you recognize the patterns you didn’t choose, softens the pressure to be perfect,
and find your way back to who you really are.

In a world that can feel heavy, it’s the small acts of kindness that help us through.

Kindness toward others.
Kindness toward ourselves.

Noticing when someone needs support.
Noticing when our own body needs rest, care, or a softer approach.

These moments of awareness matter. They create space. They help us feel a little steadier, a little more connected, a little less alone.

Today, on Random Act of Kindness Day, may we remember that kindness doesn’t have to be big to be meaningful. Often, it’s the simplest acts that carry us forward.

I would love for you to leave a comment on ways we can be kind to ourselves and others!

May you find peace in body, peace in mind and peace in spirit.

Om shanti, shanti, shanti

Happy Family Day!

Family doesn’t always look the way we’re taught it should.

For me, family includes loved ones, friends who feel like home, clients who become familiar faces, colleagues who turn into community, my two dogs who bring so much joy and grounding into my life, and this beautiful online community that continues to show up, support me, and remind me I’m not doing this alone.

Family is who I move through life with.

The ones I laugh with, walk beside, and lean on when things feel heavy. The ones who show up in big ways and small, sometimes without even realizing how much it matters.

Today feels like a good day to pause and feel grateful for all the forms family takes in my life, especially the unexpected ones.

Wishing you a day filled with warmth and connection, in whatever way family looks for you.

With a heartful of gratitude. Thanks for being here.

Jackie

Being still in your body is one thing.
Being still in your mind is something entirely different. ✨

In this week’s episode of The Inner Practice, Mel shares what it was like to come to the mat for the first time. She talks about living in constant rumination, thoughts looping all day long, never really feeling quiet inside.

And then something shifted.

Yoga didn’t just change how she moved.
It changed how she related to her mind.

This is a conversation about learning to feel safe in stillness, not just physically, but internally.

If your mind rarely feels quiet, you’re going to want to hear this.

Listen anywhere you get your podcasts.

It looks like a room full of people slowing down together.
It sounds like steady breath and quiet connection.
And this kindness ripples far beyond the mat.

Food insecurity is real, and this is something I care deeply about. I’m so honoured to be donating my time and hosting a yoga class on Feb 28 called Poses for a Purpose.

It’s a pay-what-you-can, beginner-friendly yoga class, and every dollar supports the Compass Run for Food, helping our local food bank and schools at risk.

If 22 people were able to give $25, that’s $550 toward the local food bank.
That’s groceries. That’s meals. That’s support for families in our community.

But the real impact is bigger than a number.
It’s movement with purpose.
It’s care extending outward.
It’s choosing kindness in a very real, tangible way.

Thank you to everyone who shows up, gives what they can, and helps turn one evening of movement into something that feeds our community.

Please register early so I know you’re coming. I am honoured to hold space with you!

The missing piece rarely talked about in healing is the nervous system.

As a yoga therapist and certified Athletic Therapist, I’ve learned that the body responds best to healing when it feels safe.

Persistent pain and inflammation aren’t always signs of tissue damage. Often, they’re signals from a nervous system that has been in survival mode for too long.

Yoga therapy doesn’t just treat where it hurts, it works with how the body is responding to stress, fear, and perceived threat.

When the nervous system feels safe, inflammation softens.
When awareness replaces alarm, pain often changes.

Athletic Therapy is about identifying what has been impacted by injury and addresses the healing through movement.

Healing isn’t about fixing a broken body.
Sometimes, it’s about restoring regulation, trust, and choice.

This is the missing piece yoga therapy combined with Athletic Therapy can address.

Food insecurity is real, and this is something I care deeply about. I’m so honoured to be donating my time and hosting a monthly class for the next few months called Poses for a Purpose.🙏♥️

It’s a pay-what-you-can, beginner-friendly yoga class, and every dollar supports the Compass Run for Food, helping local food banks and schools at risk.

Last month, a beautiful group of 8 humans joined me to move, breathe, and give back. Together, we helped feed our neighbours.

This month, my goal is to have 22 people join me to make a difference.

Please register early so I know you’re coming. I am honoured to hold space with you!

Recorded on November 20, 2025 at the beautiful Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort in Nosara, Costa Rica 🌴✨
This episode was born from a week immersed in practice, nature, and community.

Join Sabine and Michele for a heartfelt, honest conversation about life before yoga, life after yoga, and the quiet but powerful transformation that unfolds at a yoga retreat.

Together we explore:
✨ What life looked like before yoga entered their world
✨ How consistent practice reshaped mindset, relationships, and wellbeing
✨ Why yoga retreats open the door to deep personal transformation

This episode carries retreat energy, personal insight, and mindful reflection—offering inspiration for anyone curious about yoga beyond the mat and why a retreat might be exactly what your mind and body are craving.

If you’re drawn to yoga retreats, personal growth, spiritual reset, or living with more presence, this conversation offers warmth, wisdom, and connection straight from the Costa Rican jungle 🌿💛

New Year’s resolutions and goals start strong.
We are full of new year energy, hope and the promise of a fresh start.

Then life happens.
Schedules change.
Energy drops.
Routines slip.

And in the colder months, it feels harder.
Short days. Heavy layers. Icy sidewalks.

Sometimes movement just isn’t as accessible as it was a few weeks ago.

Then the mental chatter creeps in. The voice that says you already failed, so why keep going?

If this feels familiar, just keep it simple:

• Stretch on the floor while your coffee brews
• Roll your shoulders and neck at your desk
• Walk around your home during a call or podcast
• Twist and reach while watching TV
• Stand up and sit down slowly from a chair a few times
• Put on one song and move however your body wants

It doesn’t have to look like a workout.
It just has to feel like care.

You don’t need to restart.
You just keep going.

You got this!

Jackie 🙏✨
