Arts for Peace - Orillia An annual community event held on the shores of Lake Couchiching in Orillia, featuring music, crafts, dance, storytelling, yoga, bubbles and more!

Arts for Peace will return in 2024 after a 5 year hiatus. We look forward to seeing you on June 23, 2024 on the grounds of the Stephen Leacock Museum in Orillia, Ontario. Beginning in 1983, Arts for Peace became an annual staple for families and anyone who wanted to have a good (peaceful) afternoon together. If you're into PEACE and ART (and who isn't really?), then you should come! Every year the

re is a great line-up of performers including musicians, comedians and other peaceful people. You are sure to experience cool crafts and awesome activities. Most people love to dance around the maypole and join in spirit for a dance or two. If you come hungry you will have a selection of food to choose from including the juiciest watermelon this side of Lake Couchiching. Can't you just taste it? We are one month away from June 7 and our volunteer team has been busy getting things ready behind the scenes! Please help us spread the word about this unique community event for all ages - designed to celebrate peacemaking through the arts! Can't wait to see you there!

What: Arts for Peace Orillia

Cost: FREE! A4P T-shirts will be for sale ($25) to help cover event costs

Still basking in the memories we made back in June, members of our organizing team met today to do some early planning for "next time".

We are hopeful that we can put on another Arts for Peace in 2026. While we sort out those details, we invite you to tentatively "save the date" on your calendar.

We are proposing an earlier day in June for a variety of reasons - including heat waves!

TODAY's THE DAY!

With everything happening in the world, there’s no better time to come together and celebrate peace through artistic expression 💗

We’d love to see you this afternoon at the Leacock! Activities and performances kick off at 1:00 PM.

Things to bring: refillable water bottle, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, picnic blanket, and a snack (there are no vendors at our event) & an open heart.

A quick heads-up about 🚗 parking:
On-site spaces are limited, so if you can, we encourage walking, cycling, or getting dropped off. If you’re driving, check our last post for directions to the event parking lot.
