I can hear the snow falling; like a sprinkling of sugar or salt. A busy morning out, an afternoon in baking cookies and cleaning in the basement.

I'm not calling it Kimchi
I stuffed this into the water seal crock last night (Napa cabbage, carrot, turnip, watermelon radish, french rose onion, chilli powder and paprika powder, sea salt)

Just Cabbage: Here is just salted cabbage ferment of 7 days.
I'm taking it slow and plain starting my fermenting journey.

Previously I did a mild brine ferment of thinly sliced Jerusalem artichokes. Not very much taste. It sat for 9 days. I ate some without getting sick so thought it was a success!

The second attempt of this creation definitely did not turn out watery; in fact if was almost too thick. Which works out well so you can 'thin' it out to your personal preference when reheating. I decided not to do the onion/celery/carrot miro pox and only sweated onions. And I didn't end up with a concrete measured recipe. Again, I find cooking an art and precision and my art clash....

I've become bored with cooking because our kids don't like things that touch. I make/prepare lots of individual healthy foods/snacks for them to eat as they wish and we focus less on full meal expectations. This allows them to eat when they want, as much or as little as they want and I can be satisfied that I'm providing nutritious food for them to thrive....

Smooth as silk, this smoothie was too good to drink slowly so unfortunately this picture was the best I could catch in a hurry with my phone. I find some of my smoothies separate or become super thick and congealed if left to sit for a few minutes. I drank mine quickly but my daughter didn't, and a half hour later it was still homogenized and definitely not congealed (so I drank her leftovers!)...
