Full moons have always symbolised and been used as touchstones for seasonal change. Full moon swims offer an ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in the outdoors and observe the flowing seasons under new light. It’s also chance to find fresh motivation for your next swim outdoors.

Hi, I am Ruth, Creator of CWA FBP.
I would like to elevate my cold water, immerse experiences with fire while surrounded by cold water, ice, and snow.

This is a DIY project.
I would like to have a mobile wheelbarrow fire pit near my Cold water, immersion, dipping spot.
SUGGESTIONS are welcome

If you value the cold water, tingling sensation after your cold water exposure then keep reading!

If you no longer experience you’re tingling sensation after cold immersion or want to bring it back, maintain or manage it then continue reading 🙂

I’ve been exposing my body to the cold open waters for the last two winters. This year was the first year I found my body has stoped experiencing the tinglings sensation after coming out of the cold water.

As I have been again consistently immersing in the water between one and three minutes daily I found within two months, I stopped experiencing the tingling sensation.

I was curious as to why this happened and so I tested a theory percolating in my mind as to how to bring the tingling back, not that it really mattered because I continue on either way for the benefits.
They are amazing and have been very helpful.

So I decided I would reduce my cold water, immersion from daily to every other day or skip two or even three days in a row at times to see if the tingling sensation would return.

I discovered it did, when I introduced a gap of time between coldwater immersions versus my daily plunges with each plunge session being between one and three minutes long.

I discovered that my body lets me know how many days I need to go without coldwater exposure before the tingling sensation comes back. So I was patient with myself while I was figuring this out and managing a new schedule 🙂

I also noticed I prefer to plunge daily, sometimes two times a day.
In the morning and usually around three and 5 PM if I want the benefit, of a blissfully deep sleep (:

As for the tingling sensation, I do enjoy it very much and so I schedule it in once a month where I take a week to reduce my protocol schedule to bring back a tingling sensation.

Bringing back the tingles is a real thing, and it works when you reduce your cold immersions.

* Cold Water Adventures are now happening in the city of Oshawa, Durham Region, Ontario for swimming & dipping meet ups *

* Meet ups for days/times
are whenever agreed-upon by other dippers and swimmers 🙂

What is cold water doing to your body?

What effects are happening from cold showers or cold open waters exposure?

Cold water will have several benefits for both physical and mental well-being. Here are some benefits:

1. Improved circulation: Cold water causes blood vessels to constrict and dilate later on, which can enhance blood flow and improve circulation throughout the body. This can help deliver oxygen and nutrients more efficiently to muscles and organs.

2. Increased alertness and energy: Taking a cold shower or exposing yourself to cold open waters stimulates the body's sympathetic nervous system, leading to a surge of adrenaline and increased overall alertness. This can help start your day with a burst of energy and mental clarity.

3. Boosted immune system: Cold showers or exposure to cold open waters, have been linked to improved immune function. Exposing your body to cold water stimulates the production of white blood cells, which play a crucial role in fighting off infections and diseases.

4. Improved recovery and muscle soreness relief: Cold showers or exposure to cold open waters, can aid in post-workout recovery by reducing inflammation and muscle soreness. The cold water helps to decrease swelling and numb pain receptors, leading to faster recovery times.

5. Enhanced mood and mental well-being: Cold showers or exposure to cold, open waters, have been shown to increase the release of endorphins, improving mood and reducing symptoms of depression. The shock of cold water can also act as a natural stress reliever and increase resilience to stressors.

6. Healthier skin and hair: Cold showers or exposure to cold open waters can enhance the health and appearance of your skin and hair. Cold water helps tighten pores, reduce oiliness, and maintain natural moisture levels, resulting in smoother and healthier-looking skin. It can also promote shiny hair by closing the cuticles and preventing moisture loss.

Remember, while cold showers or exposure to cold, open waters offer numerous benefits, it's important to listen to your body and gradually introduce them into your routine, especially if you're not accustomed to cold temperatures.

A cold shower or exposure to cold open waters a day possibly keeps the doctors away 🤣
