I can pretty much guarantee that you never grew up aspiring to be a part of a group for people trying to overcome chronic anxiety, chronic stress, and burnout.

BUTโ€ฆhere you areโ€ฆ (WELCOME!)

And one of the first things we need to address are the EXPECTATIONS you had for your current situation vs. your REALITY.

Your expectation was that you just take all that life throws at you and deal with it like a machine - but you are not a machine - you are a person with physical, mental, and emotional needs. If the stressors of life keep piling up and you donโ€™t take proper care of yourself, the result is anxiety and burnout.

First, I want to affirm that every single feeling you have about your current situation is valid and important.

Second, I want you to know that this is a safe space to express anything you want to about your situation or circumstance.

Third, Any thought you have that โ€œothers have it worseโ€, or โ€œI shouldnโ€™t feel this wayโ€, or โ€œI should just be able to deal with thisโ€ need to be gently put to the side as we work together to get you from overwhelmed and anxious to balanced, at peace, and in control.

Fourth, did you know your experience can also help someone else so the more you are able to be open and real in this group the more everybody moves forward together?

When you ask your doctor or therapist for help dealing with anxiety, chronic stress, or burnout, they probably are not going to focus on moving your body more, addressing nutritional deficiencies, or the health of your gut bacteria. ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ’ฌ

This is because doctors usually have a set framework that they work within, which typically involves things like prescription medications and talk therapy. ๐Ÿ’Š๐Ÿ’ฌ

Although these interventions can offer temporary relief, the problem is they are not getting to the ROOT cause of the issue. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ฅ

The reason I focus more on the overlooked contributors is because I see how they play a part in creating imbalance in our bodies that contribute to the anxiety symptoms you are experiencing. ๐Ÿ”„๐Ÿง 

It has been my experience over and over again that when these contributing factors are addressed, we see a big improvement in the amount of anxiety symptoms someone is experiencing. ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ™Œ

Getting good at sticking to a mostly whole foods diet doesnโ€™t just happen overnight. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฅฆ

It's not something that you can commit to once and then do perfectly for the rest of your life. ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

I wish it was that easy but for most peopleโ€ฆit's not. ๐Ÿ˜”

Getting good at eating whole foods and reducing processed foods takes daily commitment to the above success steps. ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒฑ

The two things that I find the most helpful for people are step 1 and step 4 because having a solid understanding of WHY you are changing your diet will help you stick to it and also, there is no room for the โ€˜all or nothingโ€™ mindset here - we aim for 80% whole foods and 20% processed foods because that is REAL LIFE. ๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ’ก

๐Ÿฝ๏ธโœจ Who Would I Have Dinner With? โœจ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

There are so many different authors ๐Ÿ“š who have indirectly impacted my life through their words and actions, but I think I would have to choose Dr. Nicole LePara (.Holistic.Psychologist) ๐ŸŒฟ to have over for dinner.

The reason I would want to sit and speak with her is because her words have impacted my life by helping me see my anxiety symptoms as not just a psychological issue, but a whole body issue. Anxiety and stress affect so many of our bodyโ€™s systems ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ช and by addressing all of them, not just our minds, we can truly heal ourselves. I believe they are a perfect example of taking realistic control over your own health and helping me see that we truly are our own best advocates for our health ๐ŸŒŸ, and this has continued to help me stay the course and overcome any obstacles that have come my way.
