Find the cold water, sit in it for 3 minutes, get out and feel the magic… like an hour later when you warm up and your system settles again.

Oh boy was it ever a big weekend… first 1/2 marathon in 8 years ✅

Race take aways:
•my race fuel was on point and it reflected in my performance (no second half fatigue and ended with a negative split)
•despite injury at a critical time, I had logged the miles long before hand and my body remembered how to hit the distance
• kick ass cheerleading team
•things to improve on for next season; more hill training, modify my running volume at different times as required

It’s fine… but it’s so bittersweet. Thank you to an amazing 16 months with the entire team. I’ve learned so much as a clinician and a person. The patients & the team will be so missed. Exciting new adventures are ahead.

RECOVERY SUNDAY 🥶

Today I absolutely spoiled myself with some recovery 🥰

• 3 minutes of -140degree cryotherapy (thank you )
• NORMATEC compression; hips are feeling juicy and relaxed
• Functional mobility for my morning workout, targeting deep hip flexor and glute engagement • Some self inflicted Neurofunctional acupuncture to seal the deal and work towards getting back to peak running range and strength

Not pictured:
• 8 hours of sleep
• Whole Foods 🥦🍅🐔
• Meditation and a mindful presence as I carried myself throughout the day
…. These are the base to the pyramid! Don’t skip on the most important ones before jumping into axillary recovery 🙅🏼‍♀️

Whether you’re a new, soon to be, or experienced mama we’re willing to bet you’ve heard some of these myths before:

❌The 6-week mark is your green light to return to fitness activities.
✅Your birth method plays a huge role in the time it takes for you to recover. For most women 6 weeks is too soon to jump back into a full-on fitness routine. Now is the time to start small and rebuild slowly so you can avoid complications down the road.

❌You’ll never be as strong as you were before.
✅You can be STRONGER! In fact, the stronger you are the less stress you’ll be putting on your joints, and the easier it’ll be to keep up with your little one.

❌It’s normal to p*e laugh when you jump, laugh, or sneeze.
✅Incontinence is common but it’s NOT normal and you don’t have to live with it. You can correct it by learning how to engage and manage your core and pelvic floor.

No matter where you are on your motherhood journey don’t fool yourself into believing you have to pay a lifelong price for having children.

With the right knowledge, tools, and support system you can come back from pregnancy stronger, healthier, and more inspired than ever. We can help you get there.
