Kristin McCaig Holistic Nutrition and Personal Chef Services

Kristin McCaig Holistic Nutrition and Personal Chef Services Holistic nutrition consultation and healthy comfort food for families, couples and singles in Ottawa. (seriously!)

2. Now I will help you do the same.

I work with people who desperately want to be living a healthy lifestyle that they LOVE without feeling like it is a full time job. I help them get exactly what they want which is to have more energy, to be able to focus on what really fills their life with joy (instead of worrying about their health) and to love what they see when they look in the mirror. I am a Holistic Nutritionist, Professiona

l Coach (yes, like a life coach with super-powers because I was dedicated to the training process) and a personal chef. And when I’m not coaching my nutrition clients and cooking for my personal chef clients I can be found writing folk/rock music on my guitar or piano, mucking around in my vegetable garden or playing with my awesome kids. And if you look but you actually can’t find me I am probably on a long walk with my dog or off connecting over tea with someone I love. If you are dying to know more, here are 3 things you don’t know about me…

1. My favorite books always have at least one great sex scene. I love to be social, but I crave solitude afterward.

3. It took me 32 years to learn that I had to determine and live by my own values if I wanted to find happiness in life. Work with me right this second by contacting me below.

Thursday work can be done remotely anytime Thursday or Friday, based on what is convenient for you. Average 28 hours per week.
• A supportive team that values creativity, patience, a sense of humour and singing along to good music while we work (sorry in advance)!

Cody, Aldina, Rob (who was gone by this time to enjoy the experience with his kids) and I managed to make everyone’s yummy meals and we still got to enjoy the natural wonder of the eclipse together. ☀️🌑

Big thank you to our delivery drivers for getting the meals delivered without interruption. And thank you Aldina for bringing the glasses to share. 😎

From all of us in the kitchen, I want to take a minute to thank each and every one of our clients for another incredible year of allowing us to help bring healthy meals into your homes.

Because of you we are able to work, immersed in new recipes and flavours, with laughter and music and in the company of people who we really enjoy spending our time with. Because of you, we get to give back to the world with a gift that each of our chefs possess; a passion and talent for creating healthy, delicious food.

It means everything to us when you tell us how our meals impact your ability to cope with life, to gain or maintain the health you have been working for, to nourish your children, to build your business or to support you through trying times. That gives us purpose too.

Thank you also to our team of delivery drivers from Ottawa Messenger Group and Gopher It for allowing me to entrust the safe delivery of all our meals to our clients.

Most of all, I want to thank my chefs. Without their commitment and choice to show up every single day, to go the extra mile for our clients, to help keep the trillion details we have organized (and yes, you clients give us at least a few million of those details😂), what we are doing right now would not be possible.

Thank you so very much 💞

Pictured here from left to right are your chefs Aldina, Cody, Gabriel and myself. We are missing Rob who is with us every Monday.

This is very helpful! I’m not sure why, after this many years on earth, hard boiling eggs perfectly is still a mystery to myself and many others😂.

So we can put this egg debate to rest! Eggs on top were boiled with salt in the water. TOTAL DISASTER, to the point where I couldn't use them for deviled eggs. Bottom eggs were boiled with salt AND a healthy dump of baking soda in the water. I barely had to crack the shells and they just slipped right off! I hope this can help someone for Christmas if you are doing deviled eggs. 😊

Made this for tonight's dinner with homemade rolls and a kale coleslaw. I used the 10 hour slow cooker method and it was exceptionally delicious!

Two of my previous clients have an incredible service called The Good Snooze.

They are helping families get their sleep back by supporting parents to help their little ones actually learn to sleep!

Gabrielle and Mahtab are both AMAZING women to work with and I was honoured when they asked to interview me and share my services with others. I cooked for both of their families while they got through the challenging time of having babies.

Enjoy the read and please message them to learn more about their sleep solutions and the support they offer. And if you know parents who could use some help with sleep or meals, please share!

If I'm being honest, the first 6 months after welcoming my second child were really hard for me. I was sad to no longer have my one-on-one time with my daughter Kaia, and was so sleep deprived taking care of my newborn. My son Mack was born in November during the pandemic, and as a family we decided...

I am looking for a chef to join our team for a casual chef position.

We are a personal chef service and we cook in a commercial kitchen in Kanata making healthy comfort food for families around Ottawa.

We cook Monday to Wednesday between 8am and 2pm. We are a relaxed group of 3 mature chefs and we are looking to invite a 4th chef to come and join us on an as-needed basis (specifically to cover days off, to join us on our busiest days and for a few weeks over summer while we rotate vacations, with the potential to come on more regularly as we continue to grow).

Because this is a CUSTOM meal service, this position requires very close attention to detail and very clear thinking as well as good organizational skills and patience. We have fast paced busy days but this is a bit more relaxed than a large volume restaurant kitchen, so a welcome shift for someone looking to change up from late night/weekend, high stress hours to daytime.

Culinary training preferred and restaurant or commercial kitchen experience required.

Today has been a reminder about how extremely lucky I have been in my adventure of running a personal chef business.

I get the opportunity to spend each day with extremely gifted chefs who share a passion for food and cooking and show up every day, ready to put their time and energy into making beautiful food for our clients. And for that I am extremely grateful.

But these chefs sometimes also become incredible friends in this process.

Joey: Aldina and I are going to miss your laughter, your stand up comedy and your positivity. You are a rare type of person who can connect with anyone. We wish you all of the success with Robyn, Jacob and Emma as you step full time into YOUR business at Sixty Acres Farm & Feast.

And Cody, welcome to our team. I already feel the calm energy, attention to detail and kindness you bring into the kitchen. I am honoured to be a part of your journey into the next phase after the very important role of staying at home with Ella Grace. Aldina and I will happily spend our days giving you parenting advice and being a window into your future:-).(😂😇)

Aldina, thank you for making Valentine’s Day and Christmas special 🥰

This might be helpful information if you have been struggling with finding or paying for Romaine lettuce! The end of the shortage is near:-).

Lettuce fill you in. You may have noticed that the lettuce supply has been short and quite expensive. Around October and November Canada typically gets head lettuce and romaine hearts from Salinas, Northern California. The growing season in Salinas was cut short this year due to a virus and drought and the next area of growing, Huron, Southern California, has also had issues with drought leaving the "back up plan" for Salinas' supply without lettuce itself. However, The end of the shortage is near! Very soon the Arizona fields will start to replenish the shortages we currently face and Arizona will be our supply through the winter.

Some of our favourite alternative salad fixin's:
Broccoli (locally grown and last of the season)
Spiralized Zucchini
Kale
Spring Mix & Spinach
