✨A Conversation between Archetypes: Judgement and The Hanged Man

Hanged Man: "Names and debts are for those who still believe movement proves growth; I learn by becoming still."

Judgement: "Stillness can hide avoidance. How will one change without decision?"

Hanged Man: "Decision need not derive from force; sometimes choice is the art of letting-go."

Judgement: "Then I must trumpet an invitation rather than an accusation."

Hanged Man: "Good. My silence teaches receptivity; your call teaches direction. Together in transformation."

Judgement: "But, what do you fear?"

Hanged Man: "The gravity of being seen. Being seen rearranges the heart."

Judgement: "And when the heart rearranges, can guilt become wisdom?"

Hanged Man: "Yes, if it's held long enough to be understood and integrated, not another thing we bury."

This was one of my fave moments...a mild enough day to write by the lake bundled in a blanket. The crisp air cleansing my lungs and savouring of the moment in all its leafy, misty glory. 🍂

1. Five of Swords: The Self-Care of Surrender

Sometimes self-care is not a candlelit bath, but the quiet unclenching of pride. The Five of Swords invites you to stop fighting, to set down your armor, and let silence hold what victory never could. Walk away from the noise, not in defeat, but in devotion to your own peace.
✨ Self-care practice: Step back from an argument (outer or inner). Write down what you’re releasing, then burn or bury it.

2. The Tower: The Self-Care of Liberation

The Tower doesn’t destroy; it delivers. It asks, “What false safety have you been calling "your home?” Sometimes the most radical act of self-care is to let the walls fall, to allow the lightning find you. This is not collapse, but initiation. Let what crumbles reveal what cannot be taken. Surrendering is self-love in action.
✨ Self-care practice: Declutter or end something that’s been draining your spirit. Allow the space that follows to breathe you back to life.

3. Eight of Cups: The Self-Care of Sacred Departure

Happy All Hallow's Eve 👻🎃🍬 this photo (circa 1984) is of my sis & I when we were around 5/6 yrs old ❤️

Before store-bought masks lined every shelf, the 1980s were an era of imagination stitched by hand, ghosts made from old sheets, cardboard robots painted silver, and witches crowned with yarn hair.

Halloween then was a night born of creativity, echoing a far older magic.

Long before candy and costumes, there was Samhain, the Celtic turning of the seasons. 'Twas a night when the veil between worlds thinned, and firelight guided spirits home.

Over the centuries, the sacred became playful, the solemn became sweet.

What was once a ritual of respect for the unseen transformed into a celebration of mystery, mischief, and make-believe.

Tonight, as jack-o’-lanterns glow, we still whisper to that ancient fire. 🔥
