I am a 2023 graduate of the Massage Therapy Program at Fleming College, which she entered after a very fulfilling and successful career for 21 years as a Certified Level 2 Dental Assistant. My love for treating the entire body as a whole unit to isolate a single issue, and the drive to find the “why” is what lead me to change careers. My experience of working inside the mouth and working alongside

some Dentists that took her along in their continuing education to fully understanding the correlation between the way teeth come together, coupled with the way the jaw joint itself is situated, has shown that it has so much impact on the incidence of the TMJ (jaw joint) dysfunction related symptoms in the general population. These symptoms include “clicking”, “popping” noises, or jaw locking, jaw “tiredness” from chewy foods (or inability to consume them at all), tension headaches, feelings of sinus congestion, or even tinnitus (ringing in the ears). During my career in the dental field, I have been able to be an active participant in helping patients find relief of some of these symptoms and regain some overall balance in their bite. Since becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, I have also continued this passion with some continuing education courses on both TMJ dysfunction Massage, along with further Intra Oral Massage techniques courses to extend her knowledge of this complex joint. My experience in the public clinic within the Fleming College program also made her very versatile in treating the whole body with techniques such as Trigger Point therapy, Connective Tissue release, lengthening the muscle, relaxation, and superficial fluid manipulation, along with active and passive release methods to optimize a client’s massage successes.

Happy 3/4 through Summer everyone! I know…it is sad, but exciting news has come out of it all with my business! I am excited to announce I am officially the new co-owner of RMT PTBO, I am excited to share this title with my business partner Marie Claire Ruttan, RMT. We have two new graduates of the Massage program at Fleming joining us as of this week. Almost one year into this exciting new career, and my path is growing exactly in the direction I had hoped it would! Our website is being updated to show all the new changes we have implemented over the last week or so. I will share that as things get finished. 🥳🥳🥳

2024 has been full of some new training for me! Now offering deep tissue massage with added use of cupping and/or hot stone therapy, whole body hot stone relaxation with cold stone facial relaxation, and Indie Head massage with Gua Sha facial relaxation. These new services along with my regular Masaage therapy services and my TMJ dysfunction/tension headache/and facial tension treatments, are all available to schedule. Facial/cranial reflexology is also coming soon. Looking forward to seeing you all during this exciting start to 2024!

Starting Feb 5th, I am excited to announce new times and locations. Monday through Thursday I will be working out of my own newly decorated room at RMT PTBO located at 425 Water street. Mondays 3:00-5:30, Fridays 10-5:30, and Saturdays 9:30-2:00 are open for booking for local Otonabee Ontario residents only, at my Home Clinic. 2024 is also bringing many new courses to help expand my “Tool Box” of techniques to help further improve your overall balance and successes.
