It’s time to collect mint.
I have a native mint growing beside my creek as it prefers being wet.
It’s likely spearmint.
You can dry it laying flat or in a bunch in a dark place. Either way works. Discard woody stems. The tops and leaves ideal for making tea. Mint is good for digestion (IBS), antifungal, antioxidant. Good for fresh breath. I use it for tea. 🍵

🌿✨ Hello Beautiful Souls ✨🌿

It’s been a while… and sometimes, life gently (or not-so-gently) pulls us inward so we can reset, realign, and rise again. 🌄

As the mountains shift from spring into summer, I’m feeling the call to reawaken Mountain Soul Wellness and reconnect with YOU — the heart of this community. 💚

Stay tuned for soul-nourishing offerings, energy updates, and maybe even a little magic from the land I call home.

Until then, I’d love to know:
👉 What are YOU doing to care for your spirit these days?

Drop a comment or just say hi — I’ve missed this sacred space, and I’m so glad to be back. 💫

With love,
Paula

Collected Burdock root this fall and grounded it up for tea. Burdock root, when ground and used for tea offers several health benefits:

1. Detoxification: Burdock root is known for its ability to cleanse the blood by removing toxins. It supports the liver’s detoxification processes and helps flush impurities from the bloodstream.
2. Antioxidant Properties: Burdock root is rich in antioxidants, such as quercetin and luteolin, which help protect the body from oxidative stress and reduce inflammation. This can support overall immune health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
3. Digestive Health: Burdock root contains inulin, a type of prebiotic fiber that promotes the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, improving digestion and supporting a healthy microbiome. This can alleviate constipation and other digestive issues.
4. Anti-inflammatory and Antibacterial: It has been traditionally used for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Drinking burdock root tea may help with inflammatory conditions like arthritis and can support wound healing or skin conditions.
5. Skin Health: Burdock root has been used in herbal medicine to treat skin conditions such as eczema, acne, and psoriasis. Its detoxifying and anti-inflammatory effects may help clear the skin and reduce flare-ups.
6. Blood Sugar Regulation: Burdock root may help regulate blood sugar levels due to its inulin content. This could make it beneficial for individuals with or at risk for diabetes.
7. Diuretic Effect: It promotes urination, which can help reduce water retention and may be helpful for those dealing with bloating or hypertension.

Drinking burdock root tea regularly can be a great way to harness these benefits naturally. However, it’s best to consult a healthcare provider before incorporating it into your routine, especially for those with underlying conditions or who are pregnant.
