6 Makeup trends to avoid if you're a contact lens wearer👁️
1. Loose glitter: Loose sparkles can easily fall into the eyes and get under the lenses, leading to irritation or even scratches. Swap for shimmer or stick-on gems.
2. Heavy mascara or lash extensions: Clumpy mascaras and adhesive lash extensions can flake or shed, causing discomfort. Opt for contact-safe, water-based mascara instead.
3. Waterproof eyeliner: Waterproof products can be tough to remove and may irritate delicate skin around the eyes. Look for hypoallergenic, non-waterproof options.
4. Cosmetic lenses from non-reputable sources: Always buy cosmetic lenses from a licensed eye care provider, as unregulated lenses can cause eye infections and damage. Proper fit and quality are essential for eye safety!
5. Heavy face paint near eyes: Thick, oil-based paints can clog pores and make it feel uncomfortable under lenses. Use water-based paints, which are easier to remove.
6. Mascara primers with fibres: Fiber-based primers add volume, but the tiny fibres can be shed into the eyes, especially if you’re wearing contacts. Stick to fiber-free products.
