My anxiety used to be a secret 🤫

But now? I talk about it all the time. Because I know that many women have to manage it too. And the more we talk about it? The more we can heal.

In fact, according to the World Health Organization, 1 in 13 globally suffers from anxiety. Everyone feels anxious at some point in their life, but for some of us, it can be an ongoing problem.

Here are some of my favourite anxiety-fighting hacks:

🌱 Adopt a daily routine (e.g. morning exercise, meditation, journalling, affirmations)⁣
🌱 Take a breather, go for even just a 5-10 min walk + reap the benefits of being in nature
🌱 Practice conscious, focused and deep breathing (I love square breathing - 4 counts in, 4 counts hold, 4 counts exhale, 4 counts hold and repeat_
🌱 Reduce caffeine, sugar, and processed foods
🌱 Practice daily statements of gratitude
🌱 Add CBD oil to your routine ⁣☺️

Please help us support this local Burlington family. Baby O’Hagan was recently diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a genetic condition that causes muscle weakness and atrophy. SMA is a disease which also carries an overwhelming financial burden, and we want to help!

Dad Bryce, is a local business owner and a BGHC goalie mentor, who has spent hundreds of hours mentoring and guiding our young goalies. He is a huge advocate of girls in sport, and continues to lend his support to this important endeavor.

Not gonna lie, we’re kinda science nerds 🤓⁣

So we were pretty excited to see the news of a placebo controlled, double-blind study relating to CBD. A new study at the Royal Derby Hospital in the UK is currently examining the use of CBD to help with hypertension and blood pressure 🩺⁣
⁣
Hypertension affects nearly half of the North American population, which increases the risk of stroke and heart disease. Fortunately, it is a condition that can often be controlled with lifestyle changes 🏃🏻‍♀️ and/or medicines 💊⁣
⁣
However, because of the numerous side effects of current high blood pressure medications, safer alternatives are being studied. ⁣
⁣
The UK study is still in its early stages, but initial results suggest that CBD has a positive effect on blood pressure and arterial health, while maintaining a minimal side effect profile. This is promising news for those who suffer from hypertension and arterial illnesses!⁣
