As we’re heading into the end of February, I figured it was a good time to update you all on what’s going on and how things are lining up health-wise and clinic-wise.

Things are going well. As many of you know, I’ve finished chemo and surgery.

Next week I’m heading to Vancouver for five days of radiation. There will be some healing time needed afterward, but as the current plan stands, I’m aiming for a soft return to work around mid-March.

Thank you for holding space for me as I move through this part of my journey. It is so very much appreciated.

Thank you so much for nominating me for a Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award. It would mean a lot any year, but it means even more right now.

I’m not sure yet if I’ll be able to attend the awards banquet in person, as I’ll be undergoing radiation that same week, but I’ll be there in spirit and deeply grateful.

I can’t wait to be back in the clinic and see you all again.

Hmmm, it looks like my clinic is now the staging area for our goods for the Springtime Winter Market this weekend. Yes, those are trugs. There are only 3 of the bigger ones with the curved handles, because we didn't have enough scrap fir right now to make more. There are still ornaments. And there will definitely be some more back-flipping skiers too! (I just need to get them painted up.)

11-3 Saturday and Sunday, December 6&7. I'll do my best to be there the whole time...but I had my last round of chemo yesterday so...maybe, maybe not. Scotty will be there, even if I'm not.

Tendon injuries are frustratingly stubborn. Whether it’s tennis elbow, a tweaked Achilles, or nagging knee pain, most people are told to rest, ice, and wait.

I've been a bit quiet of late...busy fighting cancer while still living life, doing school, and.... setting up for my first craft fair in a long, long time.

I didn't get the full setup finished before needing to go home to crash, but we're on the stage end, and we do have lots of wooden ornaments and such. Hope to see you.

Many of you may already know this, but in case it’s new news…

My summer at clinic in Toronto didn’t go quite as planned. On July 14, I was diagnosed with breast cancer — aggressive, but treatable.

Although I tried to manage things while still in Toronto, my care team advised that I begin with chemotherapy rather than surgery, and that I return home to start treatment. I’ll be beginning chemo within the next two weeks, followed by surgery, with the need for radiation to be assessed afterwards.

Because of this, my oncology team has recommended that I focus fully on my health. That means I’ll be closing the clinic for now.

I hope that by sharing my experience, I might be able to help others on their own journeys. If you’d like to follow along, I’ll be posting updates here:
