Defy PD is an 8 week program beginning May 6th that focuses on symptom management, fall prevention and maintaining independence, so that you can thrive with PD.

The program includes live ZOOM classes every Tuesday from 10-10:45am, as well as the recordings from each class that you can do on your own anytime! Each class is led by Katie Yeandle, Registered Kinesiologist, who specializes in exercise for PD.

Classes are a circuit style class, meaning we alternate between high intensity and low intensity exercises that challenge strength, endurance, balance, size of movement, fine motor skills, cognition, and more. Each class begins with a warm up and ends with stretching.

This program is perfect for those in early to mid stages who want to…

-Feel stronger
-Boost energy
-Sleep better
-Feel less stiff
-Maintain their memory and ability to multi-task

…so that you can continue doing the things you love for longer.

Starting a fitness routine can be overwhelming.

I get it.

When you’re feeling that self-doubt creep in, remember these.

1️⃣ Don’t compare your chapter 1 to their chapter 20, but remember that if it’s possible for them, it’s possible for you.

2️⃣ 20% is better than 0%. 3 exercises are better than no exercises. Not every workout has to be at 100% effort or followed to a T.

3️⃣ Exercise is a new stimulus for your body, even if it feels easy during the workout you will likely feel sore after. Start slow and small and build up as you gauge your post-workout recovery.

4️⃣ We can get so caught up with how far away our goals still feel, but don’t forget to look back and celebrate how far you’ve come! As well as your little wins along the way!

Well hello again! I know it’s been quite some time since you’ve heard from me, so allow me to reintroduce myself! ☺️

I’m Katie Yeandle, Registered Kinesiologist and owner of Achieving Motion.

I help the young-at-heart, including people with Parkinson’s, feel stronger and sharper so they can live life to the fullest! ✨

My two specialties are:
1. Exercise to improve brain health (reaction time, memory, etc.) while strengthening the body
2. Exercise to manage Parkinson’s Disease symptoms

I’m excited to share more about these topics and provide helpful tips!

And even give examples of the game-like exercises I use!

When I’m not working I enjoy hiking, camping, baseball, puzzles, and cuddling with my dog, Mabel.
