Hi folks, Jamie Black here.

I decided to withdraw from the johnny depp people's choice awards.

There were just too many things that just didn't seem to add up like the fact that you could pay for your vote.

I am sorry for not doing enough reading of the fine print to find this out, and Im sorry to have wasted your time.

If you wish to support this work of preventing trash from ending up in the ocean and on the beaches, we are making a 12 minute video presentation with Shadow puppets and real footage.

Our next steps are:

- to finish the shadow 2 otter puppets made out of trash from the beaches

- line up opportunities to present

- get a recording

- publish it and share it and our shadow puppet workshop in all schools across the coast

- invite witnesses along the journey and maybe even change the system.

Shadow Puppetry is a mixed medium of visual art, shadow movement, shadow puppets with improvised sounds capes and narratives is a type of art that tantalizing the senses. I came across this form back in 2006 when I joined Mind of a Snail in their living room on the Sunshine Coast, where they gave us 30 minutes to craft either A. A shadow puppet or shape B. Poetry or a narrative or C. Find an instrument to improvise on With one caveat, we had to be able to keep a rhythm. And the rest is our story.

Most of our inspiration comes from Earth and its inhabitants. We believe in melding technology and Earth to capture Earth's essence and ignite a sense of wonder and care for the Earth. They say a picture says a thousand words, well video, shadow movement, improvised narrative and sounds capes crafted in the moment generates lasting memories. It is in the moment that some of the best work is crafted, or some of the funniest, which is also medicine for the soul.

We would publish this work to educate children in schools, to help find solutions in government to prevent waste from ending up on the Earth and in the waters. We would host shadow play workshops to help young people to curate their own works of stories, and maybe even change trash dumping behavior among all ages.

If you really knew me, you would know that 13 years ago, today, at 11 weeks pregnant, feeling the bliss of becoming a parent...

I had a miscarriage.

What ended up lasting a week, with 4 trips to the ER, being faced with horrible decisions, pains and scenes that I cannot unsee, eventually taking the little pill, to finally ending a week of trauma.

Every year, it gets a little bit easier.

I feel more resourced now, that I can send my love and light outward, even though my marriage ended, even though, 3 years ago the 6 months of trying to get pregnant failed over and over, even though my body is in so much pain these days due to injuries and perimenopause...

Today I choose to get out, and be with friends and family.

To get involved in things.

To be grateful for another day.

Sending love to the spark of a being that once lived inside me and now exists in the stars.

To the sparks and dreams that you carry, that have yet to come to fruition.

My name is Jamie Black, aka HummingBard, aka Faythe (a Level 67 Druid). For years I have guided thousands of people, young and old, on adventures with little to no reasources, or things upcycled and freecycled, to ignite and engage people in accomplishing what I call "heart skills" while building a relationship with Earth, eachother and themselves.

You know those skills that we gain like, listening, communication, coping, breathing, not taking other people's actions personally, and the many other life skills you can imagine. The ones that are nearly unseen, and not usually taught... That's what I'm talking about.

I believe that the most fun way to learn those life skills is through play, especially outside. When I learned that what I do could be considered Live Action Role Play, I laughed... because I didn't know there was a name for it, I just did it. I've been doing this on my own for over 20 years, and realized that if I had a community of support where I could go...

- Share my woe's and triumphs

- Laugh, cry, and giggle

- Make mistakes, judgements and fail safely

- Be heard

- Hear other people's stories

I think I would be a lot further along in life than I am now.
