Dance as a ritual
Dance has always been part of ancestral celebration and ceremonies, a way of connecting with the community and deep within ourselves.

A ritual and sacred process where the power of breath, music rythms and body movement meet. A way to let our soul connect to the elements, to different rythms, to align with our intentions, to open the door to our heart.

Dance as a meditation in movement to free our mind, body and soul from what we don't need anymore, to let go of a layer and embrace our light and shadows.

Conscious movement to transformation, sacred movement, a deep and pure expression of the soul.✨

Secure attachment

Do you know the dance of attachment to lead to a secure attachment?

The key:
1- Senses
2-Sameness
3-Belonging and loyalty
4-Significance
5-Love
6-Being know
Secure attachment is a balance between connection and independence.

Safety: If the need is met it leads to autonomy, play, exploration, competency and courage.

Connection: if the need is met it leads to belonging and connection, empathy, significance, emotion regulation and consideration.

We have to be the compass for our kids to help them grow in a safe space of autonomy.
Secure = needs met, feeling safe, secure base, encouraged expression.

Be a safe haven for our children to let them know that no matter what we love them unconditionally so they can develop a secure attachment while growing up as an adult 🙏🏽

Sensitive child
Are you familiar with that term? Sensitive (not about sensory syndrome).

That means that:
-Their brain takes more information
-Unadaptative aspect/temperament
-Feeling are being hurt easily
-Transitions are difficult
-Emotions in extreme
-Took more information about their environment
-Emotional +++
-Easily reacted
-Feel everything deeply

Being sensitive when known and accepted makes a beautiful empathetic person growing up! Lots of artists and people who work in care are sensitive. Seeing it as a quality instead of something that is wrong is a healthy way to see it.

Célébrons nous sous toutes nos formes, sous tous les aspects de notre personnalité, sous toutes nos belles émotions que les cycles nous apportent, sur tout le chemin parcouru, le chemin qu'on marche et le chemin à venir.

Sensory meltdowns or tantrums?

Tantrum= very purposeful, quick reaction, try to communicate, awareness.

Meltdowns= dysregulated, unresponsive, no awareness.

Signs of overload can look like:
-Covering ears
-Covering or closing their eyes
-Chew things
-Hands start to touch everything around
-Run through the house
-Start to scream and make loud noises
-Blink or sq**rt or rub eyes or look away
-Start to wiggles and jittery
-Sensory overload

Look at what happened before (what, where,when, who)!

What to do after:
1-Celebrate the win
2-Ask questions to understand where the struggle comes from?
3-Why? Getting curious to know the why?
4-Be the detective
5- Tools
6- Plan for the next time
7- Cuddle time
But take care not to overwhelm your kids! Don't add to their chaos.

The science behind the tantrums: it involves two parts of the brain
1- Amygdala. It acts like the smoke detector/detect the threat. The amygdala works over time.
2-The hypothalamus. It acts like someone is putting gasoline on the fire. Cortisol + adrenaline caused the meltdowns.
The brain likes to play it safe!
Don't forget that a child calms down with a calm adult (repeatedly) until maturity. (Co-regulation)

What is possible to control:
1- Setting limits
2-Establishing expectations
3-The inner story you tell yourself about the child
4-Learning from the past experiences and mistakes.
5-How to speak to your child
6-Setting personal boundaries

Teach your child what co-regulation means by being a model to them. Kids learn by mirroring their parents! 🙏🏽
