The ISCA Athlete Grant provides Indigenous athletes (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) of all ages with support to cover costs associated with competing at national or international sporting events outside of Alberta, such as the cost of travel, meals, accommodation, fees, etc.
Eligibility Criteria:
-Indigenous Ancestry (First Nation, Non-Status First Nation, Métis, Inuit)
-Resident of Alberta
-Competing in a national or international level sporting event outside of Alberta
-Date of event must be upcoming within a year of applying
-Must have been selected to compete (ex. scouted, qualified, invited, tryouts)
-If under the age of 18, a parent/guardian must complete the application form
-Athletes are eligible to receive 1 grant per year (January 2026 - October 2026)
Not Eligible:
-Athletes competing at the North American Indigenous Games
-Athletes competing at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships
-Team applications will not be accepted
-Local/regional events
-Regular season registration fees
A large number of applications are received and successful applicants will be very limited.
