As baseball and fastpitch athletes transition into competition, the biggest challenge isn’t skill — it’s how the body handles the sudden increase in demand.
Because at the end of the day…if you can’t control it, you can’t handle it.

Okay hear me out… stress might be worse for your health than junk food. 👀

As a Nutritional Counselor, I see it all the time—while food matters, chronic stress often has the bigger impact. It affects your blood sugar, sleep, cravings, digestion, and how your body feels day to day.

So many women are trying to “eat better” while running on empty… and that stress load is often the missing piece. 💭

💙 We’ve been busy in the community!
The past few months have been full of great connections and opportunities to share what we love:
🏋️‍♂️ Kyle & Leah teamed up with F45 for a lifting & back health session
⚾ Kevin spent time with St. Joe’s Academy talking all things baseball
🤝 Our admin team got a behind-the-scenes look at the amazing work at the Lending Cupboard
🏒 The RD Collegiate Chiefs battled it out at provincials
🎓 And we wrapped up placements with Ayla (student intern) and Quinn (AT practicum)—we loved having you both on the team!

We’re proud to be part of such an incredible community and grateful for every chance to connect, support, and grow together. 🙌

3 tips for supporting your metabolism in perimenopause 👇

But first:

Have you ever been told to just eat less + move more?

That advice isn’t wrong.

It’s just incomplete.

Menopause is associated with:
•Increased insulin resistance
•A more pro-inflammatory state
•Less favorable lipid changes
•Shifts in appetite signaling
•Changes in body composition

It’s a metabolic transition- not just a hormonal one

So here are 3 things I tell my clients as a Nutritional Counselor:

1️⃣Stabilize blood sugar first
Regular, protein forwarded meals help reduce glucose spikes and calm metabolic stress.

2️⃣Protect muscle, not just the scale.
Lift heavy s**t! Preserving muscle supports metabolic rate and insulin sensitivity-which matters far more than chasing low calories.

3️⃣Reduce daily inflammatory load
Menopause is often described as a pro-inflammatory state. Prioritizing sleep, whole foods, movement that supports recovery, and stress regulation lowers that internal burden.

When you do these things consistently over time, they can lead to an improvement in menopausal symptoms.

If you’re a motivated women who’s tired of just “dealing with it” and want personalized support for your metabolic health, I offer free virtual consultations. Lacey Rudulier

You can be eating “all the right foods” and still feel exhausted, inflamed, and stuck.

Food only works if your body can actually use it.
If key nutrients are missing, digestion is struggling, or enzymes aren’t supported, even the cleanest diet can backfire.

This is why at Metabolic Balance, we don’t guess.
We don’t hand out generic meal plans.
And we don’t just tell women to “eat cleaner.”

We use lab work to understand what your body needs before choosing the foods that go on your plate.

Because nutrition isn’t about being good, it’s about being specific.

You need a plan that actually fits your body.

💛If you’re a motivated woman who’s tried “all the things” and are tired of feeling stuck, reach out to our Nutrition Counsellor & Metabolic Balancing Coach, Lacey Rudulier
