First Presbyterian Church Regina is seeking a mature, responsible, self-motivated individual to provide cleaning and general building maintenance for our church facility. This is a part-time position, requiring 10-15 hours per week, and reports to the churchs Board of Managers. Previous experience cleaning/maintaining facilities is a definite asset. Duties of the position include:
Cleaning: Keep the church building clean, including the sanctuary, gym, office areas, hallways, entrances, and basement as per schedule. Spot clean high-traffic areas as needed.
Washroom cleaning and maintenance: Inspect all washrooms daily and clean as needed, plus replenish supplies as needed.
Garbage: Monitor and empty garbage, recycling and composting bins throughout the building as needed; plus, place City bins outside for pickup schedule.
Snow clearing: Remove snow off sidewalks surrounding church buildings as needed to ensure safe access for regular services, activities, and special events, and to meet City sidewalk snow removal requirements.
Yard maintenance: Maintain exterior yard area in summer including mowing lawn and monitoring and operating sprinkler system.
Minor repairs: Do minor maintenance such as replacing lightbulbs and unclogging drains.
Boiler: Check the boilers at least twice a week; Boiler Papers would be an asset.
Critical Skill: The caretaker must develop and maintain effective communications with the Churchs office administrator regarding all activities scheduled in the building to ensure required cleaning/maintenance.
