Hello! I’m Yashar (aka “Dr.K”) ,
•
In the spirit of leadership, I am offering a new project that is very dear to my heart - MINDSHIFT: Mental + Emotional Strength Coaching sessions for those in need of support right now.
•
These sessions will be 30mins in length, and offered as a Pay What You Can. Many of our clients are feeling the pressure and overwhelm of leading themselves and their teams, so we decided to create this offer to support your mental health.
•
We rarely offer “one-off” sessions as we wholeheartedly believe in our methodology, and we are committed to deep integration. We know a single session can’t offer the same transformation as our full programs. However, that being said, we are also aware that these are historic times with different needs. When you are doing the heavy mental lifting that is required of us all right now, it's great to have a coach and a spotter -- that's where I come in.
•
What is a ‘mental-emotional strength’ session good for?
- Stress
- Overwhelmed
- Confusion
- Fear
- Anger
•
What will I gain from a mental strength-building? Tools and insights to create:
- Resiliency
- Compassion
- Courage
- Hope
- Clarity
•
Please note that this is a limited-time offer and spaces are limited. Please use this link (https://bit.ly/2QLmTs4) to schedule your “MINDSHIFT SESSION: Mental-Emotional Strength”. DM/ e-mail us if you have any questions.
•
I look forward to working with you!
Let’s MINDSHIFT!

Tyranny may not always begin with you, but it will always be procreated again and again from within.
▪️
From the time the demon enters and grips your conscious underpinnings, until the time it is ripped out like a scab on a wound not quite ready to leave its post - the process is unbelievably messy and energy consuming.
▪️
Tyranny lives only to judge all that you believe you are not and cannot be.
▪️
Tyranny demands you to denounce value and attention on your only chance towards sovereignty - acceptance of your worth.
▪️
Tyranny cannot live if you are worthy of this life.
▪️
Tyranny is suffocated in the presence of acceptance, in the presence of worth.
▪️
Tyranny believes in perfection, in the most imperfect way, for only one purpose, to feed its insatiable perverted self.
▪️
Acceptance of your worth can restore the fractured pieces of your being. It casts the bones that have crumbled under the weight of tyranny.
▪️
Worth is the antidote to the unmistakable and crippling reality that only tyranny can place upon the landscape of your entire life.
▪️
But you must first believe you are worthy of feeling worthy to know something different – to know something other than tyranny

It's worth looking up to the ones that teach you unfiltered lessons.
I hit two personal bests today, and . That is 30 - 50lbs more than I have lifted before.
However, this post is not about that - though I am well on my way of accomplishing my goal of being twice as fit at 40 (I'm 37) then I was at 20.
This post is about showing up.
This post is about using pain as fuel to accomplish what is meaningful and purposeful to you.
This post is about being kind, loving, patient and a coach to yourself, especially when everything feels like it is falling apart.
The last few days have been challenging - mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
There were many times that I wanted to turn my back on my challenges and walk away.
There were times I did, for a bit, only to quickly realize this pattern of thinking and behaving is not sustainable.
When I woke up this morning, the problems weren't gone, in fact I was quickly reminded of them.
So I decided to do 3 things differently today than I did the last few days.
1. I paid closer attention to the feeling of my wife's embrace, and her kiss goodbye as she went to work.
2. I held my son's hand as I walked him to his classroom with all my intention focused on giving him an unspoken felt sense of safety, confidence and love.
3. I told myself over (and over and over) again as I drove to the gym that I can choose any narrative I want, and today I will choose this pain as fuel. Today I will choose love, strength and connection as my power. Today I am a Loving Grounded Warrior.
My challenges aren't gone, but I have upgraded my mindset in the face of the challenges.
Today, I will love just as hard as I lift. What about you? What pain can you use as fuel towards your purpose?

The body governs the mind as much as the mind governs the body. They work together to optimize each other’s performance. Our body can help us during stressful situations. When we learn to pick up on the subtle changes in breath, muscle tension, fluttering sensations in the stomach or increase in heart rate, we can start making corrective measures to empower our stress response.⠀

"Between the life that we lead and the one that we pray for, give us balance on the past that there's no need to ask for more.
Between the love that we seek and the love that's already there, let it soften my soul and focus my stare"

Happy 6th wedding anniversary to us my love. Thank you for being a best friend, a purpose driven mentor, momma bear to baby bear, and a wonderful balance between seeking growth and being grounded within the present. I am a better man because of you, thank you 🙏

As a new school year begins, so does the excitement, anticipation and anxiety around all that is changing and all that is new.
As a first time parent sending my son off to JK I am experiencing many emotions, including fear.
So what am I reminding myself of as I begin to embrace this new beginning as my best self?
1) The first fundamental idea that helps me reorganize my thoughts when the challenge of change is upon me is the reminder that in reality, every moment is a new beginning, and change is constant, and therefore this is much like any other, perhaps only with a few new details and characters.
My ability to self-regulate my breath, and my thoughts will directly impact my ability to regulate my emotions and behaviours.
The only truth the current moment holds in relation to the past is the narrative I keep reminding myself of, or replacing the thoughts and feelings of "now" with "then".
Therefore, to be present in this change, and present to my son as he experiences the change, I must recognize when my brain is filling the present with thoughts and storylines of the past, or expressing emotions of future events that have yet to be actualized.
2) Secondly, "My Best Self" is not a fool proof plan, or hack, but it is a great tool to help me stay present. It is a calling, an invitation. A daily, hourly, by minute, and heck, by second calling of my deepest sense of who I am. It is my commitment to choose a version of myself that lives inside of me, and exists to serve me, first, and then those around me. My Best Self is not something that is designed, built or created. It is much more something that is revealed, and then strengthened, if I choose to do the work. That is how it is of real service.
3) I remind myself as clearly as I can - the invitation to show up as My Best Self is constantly being sent, repeatedly, and will continue to be sent until my last breath. The experience is here for me, and I must open myself up to it.
What about you? How do you handle the challenge of change? Do you know who "Your Best Self" is? Want to find out? Here is a visualization exercise that can help you get started: https://mindshift.ninja/ybs/

Re-think your relationship with productivity... - https://mailchi.mp/082e2cda99c7/03puyb6f4o-2675105

How does you body signal to you that you are over extended? Headache, neck stiffness, back pain, stomach pain?
Typically people try to push past these feelings and try to “just get a little more work done.” But these feelings are warning you. The last thing your brain and your body needs at that moment is to keep working. A more productive use of your time would be to take a break. Stop. Take a breath. Allow yourself to mindfully reset.
Start regulating your mind and body through mindfulness meditation. Often you will only need 5-10 minutes to start feeling rejuvenated.

I love being in nature, but in my busy day to day grind I forget how much I love being in nature. In fact, I forget how much I need it.
This week I spent 4 days traveling over 36km by foot and canoe with one of my closest friends. We divided about 150 lbs of equipment, food, clothes and canoe between the two of us, and we surrendered to the challenge. We faced torrential downpour, non-stop wind and the very welcomed hot sun.
I couldn't help but keep thinking of the metaphor for life such a journey and experience is. You can complain and groan every step of the way, but it doesn't change the outcome. You can become grumpy or even angry with the person on the journey with you, but not only does it not change the outcome, it makes it even more difficult for you and the other person. In fact, you begin to disconnect from your closest ally during the challenge.
The best course of action is always the same - focus on the version of yourself you are most proud of and align that to the deepest held purpose you have for being on this journey. That is it. That is all you truly have control over.
Thank you to for being my friend, mentor and someone that truly respects the natural world. Your sense of adventure and desire to grow as a person never cease to amaze me.
My deepest gratitude to mother nature. The most powerful, unforgiving, and yet most giving of all. Your lessons are a constant reminder of what life is truly about.
Friends, get outside, and stay outside.
@ Killarney

I was in Chicago last week delivering a keynote on a subject that is not only near and dear to my heart, it is a subject I am committed to learning and living myself - leadership and living life as the best version of yourself.
When I ask people "Who is your best self?" very few people have an answer, and even fewer have a clear answer. It has become abundantly clear to me through my work as a Naturopathic Doctor, Executive Coach and Health Psychology teacher that one cannot produce sustainable, healthy and strong leadership without being self-aware and accountable to who their best self is. One must invest time and effort towards these core exercises and experiences to understand their psychological anchors that govern the best of one self. This is fundamental to showing up to life and work to produce meaningful impact!
This is my life work, and my ongoing personal work.

“Respond to the events of the day in the day they occur. Do not take yesterday’s baggage into today, or you will find yourself back in yesterday, and stay away from tomorrow except to presume it to be what you need in benefit for your growth. Every day becomes an opportunity to know who and what you are, and who others are as well, and let this be enough. Do not dwell in the past or predicate your safety upon a certain outline of a future that may or may not come to be. The teaching of the day is the teaching the soul requires. Tomorrow will present itself in its own perfect way.”

Heart Rate Variability: Feeling and thinking with your heart - Dr. Yashar Khosroshahi, ND, ACC
Over the last couple of decades, Heart Rate Variability training has been incorporated with business leaders, competitive athletes, police training, managing anxiety, and more. It can help us better overcome stressors, increase creative solutions, become more effective leaders, and feel and perform optimally.
Here are three ways to optimize your training: https://drknd.com/heart-rate-variability/
drknd.com Over the last couple of decades Heart Rate Variability training has been incorporated with business leaders, competitive athletes, police training, managing anxiety, and more. It is a big part of mastering a mindset for success, and often only takes 4-6 weeks of training.

We would all benefit from scheduling time in our day for nothing. Incorporating breaks, sleep, and time in your day where you are doing “nothing”, may in fact give you the ability to get “everything” done with more accuracy, engagement and fulfillment.⠀

3 simple, yet very effective, brain-friendly tools to help you do everything else better — play, mindful breaths, and sleep.⠀

Who is your support network? There is no underestimating the power of social connection! When we have a trusted source to confide in, we do better mentally and physically. The power of these relationships comes in the form of quality, and not quantity. It is more important that you cultivate meaningful relationships and that you are able to share your vulnerabilities with someone, than the amount of ‘followers’ you have. Use your real connections to support you through stress. ⠀

Ask for help, we are not meant to do this alone!⠀

Though the darker moments in our lives can be extremely scary and painful, they are also filled with opportunities of growth and learning. It is inevitable that we will all fall upon major challenges in our lives that are somewhat out of our control. However, what is within our control is our commitment to show up to the dark times with an open mindset towards self-compassion, and to make meaning out of our struggles.

Prioritize play.

Your ability to keep attention on the things you want, and away from what you don’t, is a foundational skill that needs practice.
