35 Minute Full Body Strength & Fat Burn (Low Impact) with Penny Barnshaw Garage Fitness Girl
NGL, this one was tough today.
After a long day of travel, sleepless night, nervous tummy, anxiety and not a lot of food the day before, I was feeling tired and weak.
I started this workout, got to the single leg deadlifts and thought, "I can't do this".
I was dizzy coming back up to stand. When my set was over I paused the video, sat down, rested and waited for my heat rate to slow down.
I thought to myself, "I will just do the first set, then turn it off".
Then I thought of Live Well with Eden saying, "We pivot, we don't quit". So I dropped weight from 15 lbs to 12lbs for overhead press, I dropped from 20lbs to 15lbs for the Swing, I did my push-ups from my knees.
By the time I looked at the screen, I was 80% complete and thought, "I can finish this".
35 Minutes out of a 24hr day is doable. I was in a rush to get to my son's hockey game, but I did it anyway.
Honestly, my body needed the movement after sitting in a car, then airport, then airplane, then car again the day before.
Pivot don't quit!
I still moved. I still lifted. I got though the 35 minutes, even if I didn't lift my heaviest or push myself the hardest (Honestly in the state my body was in, that would not have been healthy or beneficial in any way. That's how injuries happen).
Your workout doesn't have to look like everyone else's.
Something > Nothing
Listen to YOUR body
You will have days where you feel great, have a ton of energy and absolutely kill it.
You will have other days where you are struggling.
Your body will let you know what it's capacity is for that day.
You're not going to red zone your vehicle with no oil or gas. You would blow your motor.
Why would you do that to your body?
Let it rest
Fuel and Fluids
Start again slowly
Each day is a new beginning
