Lisa Hillyer

Lisa Hillyer A bit about me:

In 2012 my daughter and I packed up and moved to Australia to pursue a job opportunity. It saved me. This journey has created a life I now love.

The experience was amazing however, all my stress and unhappiness both with my career and myself just packed up and followed me to the other side of the world. I had a few (actually a lot) of breakdows and was making myself miserable. How could I not be happy, I lived by the beach in one of the most beautiful places in the world. I took the ferry across Sydney harbor to work every day, sounds like a dream life to me....but it wasn't, I wasn't happy at all. I needed a shift and that's when I found yoga, it was literally love at first downward dog. I enrolled in my first 40 days to personal revolution at PowerLiving Australia and that is where my journey began. This journey took me back to Canada where I started working with a life coach, traveled for five months on my own, spent a month in India doing my yoga teacher training, stayed in an ashram, became obsessed with essential oils, found a new love for drumming and became a certified health and wellness coach. I faced every fear I had ever had and some I didn't even know I had and still had the courage to keep going. I believe through disconnecting from our mind and reconnecting to our heart we can create a life that we absolutely love - a life filled with passion and purpose. It all starts with awareness; an awareness of our body, our choices and our thoughts. When we connect to ourselves and our hearts we make choices that our body, soul and mind are so thankful for. It creates a rippling effect that extends out to our loved ones and eventually to our beautiful planet. How amazing is that?! If you are ready to start living from a place of purpose and feed your body and soul all the love it can handle, I would love to connect. I offer health coaching, workshops, private yoga classes and oil classes. Looking forward to connecting with you! "You are the whole universe in one drop" - Rumi

This one’s for the men.

Forged in the Fire.
One-Night Men’s Retreat | Roberts Creek, BC

Saturday, June 28th 9am - 9am June 29th
On five wild acres of forest, creek, and fire.

This is a call to the men who are ready.
Ready to be tested.
Ready to be humbled.
Ready to rise.

Forged in the Fire is a one-night immersive retreat for men who are willing to be challenged—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Set on a rugged 5-acre property in Roberts Creek, BC, this gathering strips away the distractions of modern life and brings you back to the elements.

Expect sweat.
Expect silence.
Expect the flame.

Through a series of physical challenges in the forest, fireside brotherhood, and spiritual confrontation with the living God, you will walk the edge of your limits—and come out forged.

This isn’t a weekend of comfort. It’s a crucible.

The day ends with a feast around the fire—meat, bread, and bone. A celebration of what’s been shed and what’s been born.

Come with open hands. Leave with a sharpened spirit.

Spots are limited. This is not for everyone.
But if your soul knows—it’s time.

$250. All inclusive.

Hosted by Nick Duff.

We begin on Wednesday, March 5th.

If you would like to join us the link is in my bio - prayer changes everything - most of all the person praying.

I read a quote about staying away from alcohol or drugs being the easy part about sobriety and that it’s sitting with all the emotions that is the actual work.

That that’s the hard part.....I couldn’t agree more.

Sitting with all the emotions, the ebbs & flows of this human experience head on without any numbing mechanisms can be hard as f@ck.....but there is liberation on the other side.

Sobriety is freedom.

It has allowed me to find my wings in the depths of my darkness and stand fully in my power rooted and rising.

I thank God that all of the pieces aligned that pushed me into my depths where I had no choice but to leave the alcohol behind.....as it has allowed me to land fully here to serve & embody the work that I came to the planet to do.

As always on the anniversary of my sobriety I share a post that I wrote after my first year of sobriety as our story’s heal & inspire & it was reading others story’s of sobriety that inspired me to finally take the leap & maybe it will inspire you with wherever your leap might be nudging you. My sober journey is also on my podcast, link in the bio.🦅

January 5th, 2016 I had my last drink.

I remember sitting in the Gatwick airport like it was yesterday, having a glass of wine with a friend + my family before we boarded our flight home after my 6 months of solo travel.

It was in that moment I knew with every bone in my body, every ounce of my soul that I was done. Once I landed back on Canadian soil alcohol was not touching my lips for one year. Done....The thoughts going through my head? This is seriously going to suck, one year is like an eternity + this is going to be the hardest thing I’ve ever done...I’ve signed myself up for a real s**t year but I can do it. I have to do it.

I had decided that New Years Day that I was done drinking after waking up feeling like death had just knocked on my door, hungover + going through the self sabotage that you do after a night on the booze. I didn’t have a drink for a couple of days after New Years Day...I didn’t have a drink until I got to the airport. Why did I have a drink at the airport? Because I hate flying {continued in comments}
