It’s been a minute….

Hi 👋🏻 I’m still here. Still working 1:1 with clients as well as building our online community. But today I want to highlight someone very special who I’ve had the privilege of working with for the past 9 months.

This here is Leslie 🙂
She initially came to me to help build up her strength for working in her yard and gardening. This woman is BUSY!

Although we’ve known each other for several years through our nursing jobs, this would be a whole new experience for her. With all of the uncertainty of trying something new, being uncomfortable, the pains of learning and remembering new things, she did it anyway.

Throughout the last several months, Leslie has started to show up to the gym on her own, still checking in after her workouts for accountability, but showing up for HERSELF. This has become a non negotiable time for her. Time she can spend focusing on her goals, her strength and not settling for frailty with age. She knows her hard work now will pay off in years to come.

To say I am proud of her is a huge understatement. Every session she shows up, puts in 110%, is always down for whatever I suggest working on and she DOES NOT QUIT. Last week we tackled box jumps, full burpees, inchworms, heavy goblet squats and more. A couple of people came up to her after and said how impressed they were at her strength and stamina.

She has been an absolute gem to work with, sessions I look forward to all week.

Leslie, I am so grateful for your trust, your determination and GRIT. You deserve every bit of success that comes with your hard work, especially in the months to come as gardening season approaches.

This woman is on 🔥

I have to take a moment to brag on my bestie and celebrate the incredible progress she’s made on her health journey. When officially opened my online coaching, she was one of the first to be IN!

Today’s check in was LIT! She’s officially down 20 lbs and 20 inches overall, and it’s all because she’s shown up for herself with real dedication, not perfection, just consistent effort and choosing to stay committed MOST of the time.

What inspires me most is her heart: she’s making sustainable changes, trusting the process, and proving that small steps add up in big ways. And the fact that she just started adding in light exercise this month makes her results even more amazing. She proved over the summer that camping, living at the ball diamonds, being a busy momma & a bossy pants at work wasnt going to stop her from going after what she wants.

Plus, she’s always super supportive to other people in our client group chat!
This woman is the real deal.

Growth is saying, “I said I was going to do this , and I am the kind of person who follows through.”

There’s a quiet power in that. A calm, grounded confidence that rises when you finally start doing the things you once only talked about.

You stop negotiating with your excuses. You stop waiting for the perfect moment or a burst of motivation.

You start, and you keep going. You CHOOSE everyday to stick to what you said you’d do.

Healthy aging isn’t about slowing down, being careful not to push too hard or stop doing the things we love because our bodies wont allow us to, aging is about staying engaged.

Challenging ourselves physically and mentally keeps our bodies strong, our minds sharp, and our spirits alive.

🧠💪 Mobility vs. Stretching — Why It Matters.

If you’re just stretching before training and calling it “good”… you might be missing the bigger picture 👀

👉 Stretching helps lengthen muscles (hello, flexibility).

🫶🏼 But mobility training? That’s about control, strength, and movement quality through your joints’ full range of motion.

Here’s why it matters:

⚠️ Dysfunctional movement patterns like knees caving in during squats or poor shoulder positioning on presses, often come from poor mobility, not just tight muscles

And here’s the kicker:

▶️ These dysfunctional patterns can lead to repetitive, nagging injuries over time; the kind that never fully go away and keep flaring up when you train hard.

Your weekend choices matter.
Five days of hitting your nutrition goals can be undone in just two days of “letting loose.” Those extra calories don’t disappear on Monday—your body still counts them. 1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣

If you want real progress in your body composition, consistency is key. That DOESN’T mean perfection or restriction, and it certainly doesnt mean cutting your calories back so far you’re eating as much as a toddler 👦…..but it does mean aligning your weekend choices with your weekday efforts. Progress doesn’t take weekends off.

Those 🍻 and appies on Friday night, the charcuterie board 🍱 and wine 🍷 on Saturday and that pancake 🥞 brunch on Sunday aren’t “free”. Your body has to put those calories somewhere and that somewhere is stored as fat. Your WEEKLY 📅 TOTALS matter.

Get quality sleep
Eat whole foods & TRACK your intake (yes, including that double double, caramel, fat free, extra foam latte you love every morning 🤫)
Ensure you have rest days
DRINK YOUR WATER!
Don’t derail your entire weeks progress by going off the rails all weekend.
Stress coping mechanisms, meditation, yoga, walking, - LET THAT S**T GOOOOO!
