The MHSA organized its Membership Appreciation Event for it’s northern members on September 18th, 2025.

This gathering featured speakers such as Workers’ Compensation Board, Thriving Workplaces, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, EHS Partnerships, Partnerships in Injury Reduction and the University of Calgary.

MHSA presented the 2nd annual Safety Awards to recognize those in the industry that are dedicating themselves to leadership and innovation in the Alberta manufacturing sector. Congratulations to:
- Greg Parrell from Supreme Steel LP who received the Excellence in Training Award
- Varsteel Ltd for earning the Outstanding Safety Leader Award
- Sydney Ang, the COR Safety Champion, and
- Fred Wiebe, who was recognized with the Lifetime Dedication Award

The MHSA partnered with the University of Calgary to host a panel discussion on the Rigging & Crane Competency framework in Alberta. The panel was moderated by Dr. Tom O'Neill from the University of Calgary and had participation from a team of carefully curated industry experts.
